surgery postponed!

yeppp im supposed to be having surgery right now.. and im at home .. heres the scoop at 3 am this morning, my sister in law called and said that my 2 yr old (that i just dropped off at 9 to spend the night with them for 2 nights) was throwing up everywhere and had horrible diahrea. i could hear her whining in the background.. my heart began to break. what do you do?! go ahead with a "cosmetic" procedure, or run to your baby who is crying for you and that could make 4 other kids sick at the same house as them... It was a horrible position to be in . i cried and cried .. finally about 4 i called Dr Suber s office, they connected me straight to him on the phone and i tell ya what that man earned some major brownie points from me! he was totally understanding about my problem.. and said "dont make your decision based on us and guilt about canceling it , make it on your gut instinct, if you dont feel right about going into surgery today with her sick then lets go ahead and cancel and schedule for another day coming up, its not like you have a diseased gallbladder that has to come out right now" .. when he said that i felt a peace about it and agreed that we should postpone it.. There was NO WAY i could go lay in the OR going out for 6 hours knowing my baby was needing me! NONE.. so we went and got her last night at 4:30 and she got the biggest grin on her face when she saw me and i cried and i know i made the right decision.. seeing "8" on the clock this morning kinda sucks bc i wish i was getting it over with right now, but i wouldnt change it bc she needed me.. SOO i gotta call their office at 9 this morning and reschedule.. hopefully they can do it soon. bc i didnt want to run into the holidays. itll be better this way since my mom is so sick as well she couldnt help or see me for 5 more days so it will be okay ! I hope the virus doesnt spread to the other kids and me.. thanks for all the prayers and melissa thanks for the call this am!!! LOL I just got the message.. yall are great.  jen

You are so awesome. Things happen for a reason, just know that. Sometimes we don't understand why and that is ok.  You are such a great mommy!!!!!! I hope she feels better soon!!  I am sure just seeing you this morning made her feel tons better! Love ya- Melissa

Jen, I am sorry for your let down and I truly hope your little girl feels better soon!   How is your cold feeling?   I was talking to Susan last night and it just seems like there is SO MUCH DRAMA going on in everyone's life right now..... I mean everywhere.....  i just dont recall a time when things were like this.     But yes.... you will have your surgery and I think it does happen for a reason.      You have such a wonderful attitude and just a lust for life!       I really and so happy I met you!   I cant wait to see you again! hugs, Jill :)

Seriously, I am a firm believer that everything always happens for a reason. Who knows, you may have come out of surgery with the same bug So, now maybe everybody can get well and it will be easier on you. Your girls are very blessed to have a Mommy like you!!!

This just proves you are the wonderful giving person we all know you are.  Putting that babies needs before yours is why God gave you that baby to begin with, he knew you would take care of her...because it's the right thing to do. I too believe things happen for a reason.  It would have sucked for her to have given that bug to everyone else, and OMG what if you would have caught it fresh out of surgery.  Talk about painful! Now you and your mom can get better and everything will work out. I hope your baby feels better soon.  Relax...your day is coming!!!!!!

I am so sorry the little one is sick!  I hope she feels better soon.  Poor Thing.  As a non- Mommy of 2 legged kids, I think you made the right decision.  I have a God-daughter and it beaks my heart when she is not feeling well and want to run to her and make her feel better, I can only image if I was her Mom.  You are an awesome Mom!  Plus it is not like this is your only chance to have the surgery, it was post-poned and not canceled.  Your Doctor sounds awesome as well. Sorry your little one is so sick, I hope she feels better soon but with a Mommy like you, how could she not. Julie

Thanks for calling me this morning and telling me about the postponement.  I would have been a little ticked if I had gone all the way into Greenville to see you and you wouldn't have been there.  I know you made the right decision.  Don't worry.  You'll get it done sooner or later....

Sorry your little one is so sick. I hope it stops there and no one else gets it. My mom always said God has a reason. He knows best. Hang in there and your day will come. You are such a wonderful mom! Love ya
