Hellen's count down

Hi All, Well our friend Hellen is counting down the mere days now till surgery.  I remember when she and I first met and WLS wasn't even an idea in her head.  She has come such a long way and has been so strong and determined to change her life.  I'm super excited for my best friend and pray that all goes well.  I will be sure to update you all on her progress while she is in the hospital.  She and I have been joking everyday at lunch about what her "last meal" is going to be.  I told her I had several last meals!   Remember to pray for her on Wednesday, I know I will! Thank-you, my sweet friend! Considering I have class on Tuesday night from 6p - 10p, I don't know what my "official" last meal will be - maybe a hamburger on the way home. LOL!!!!  I DO know that Debbie's taking me to Duke's Barbecue sometime this weekend to have some of my favorites - their fried chicken & collards! Seriously, tho, I am so psyched that nothing and no one can bring me down now.  I'm ready, determined, & excited.  My life will change for the better. My love to all & I'm here for you all, too! I wish you the best and I know everything will turn out alright. Also DUKE's is FANTASTIC....I would drive to Walterboro..cuz I think that one is the best just to eat there. So that is a wonderful Last Meal!!!!!!

Hi Robin!         its always so good to see you posting!       :)       I am excited for Hellen too!     It feels like years ago and then it feels like it was just yesterday all at the same time....   for when I had my surgery. I too remember my 'last meal'   i had this wonderful baked stuff fish with this heavy cream sauce on it..... omg.   and dessert.... loaded with sugar.     and coffee and wine.... One thing I did not do that was STRONGLY suggested was to wean myself off of caffeine prior to surgery..... and shhhooooot did I have a headache that morning after from the caffeine withdrawals!!??   eeeek. Hellen... we will all be routing for you!      I am excited for my sweet Esther too.   We are waiting on her surgery date to be announced.       On Wednesday (the day of your surgery) she goes for her nutrition couns. appt.     And that day.... i have the salvatian army coming by my place to take away some furnture  YAY..... Wednesday will be a great day. hugs. J.

Thanks for posting this Robin.  Hellen, I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers on Wednesday.  I know you will do great and....soon we will be welcoming you to the Loser's Side!
