Just FYI, I happened to be one of the ones that really didn't lose any breast tissue.  I went from a 40C to a 34/36 D.  Weird huh? Now, my boobs are not perfect, but at this point I don't think I wouldn't want anything more done to them than a lift...but I wanted that BEFORE surgery too. You also have to keep in mind, that I never breast fed any children either. Hope this helps.

I don't get why he wont do the implants at the same time, it doesn't make sense. Dr. Lovett told me he could do small ones  in mine just to give me a little more fullness at the top if I wanted a lot of cleavege. I elected not to get the implants since he said I will look great without them but I might not have as much cleavege as  some women like. I told him all I want is to make them look like breast instead of tube socks, lol. Anyway, they showed me the photos of his patients that had the same thing he is doing to me , some with the implants some without, and I thought they all looked great. He said I have plenty of  breast tissue left so not doing the implants wont make much difference in the way they look at all. So to make a long story short, I have never heard  of the implants not being done at the same time. And I would make sure he is putting the implants under the chest muscles, if not then don't do it, yes they will move and they don't look natural like they do when under the muscles. Go check out some of the plastic surgery sites where they have photos they are awsome to look at.  Hugs! Mary

they way he explained it it made sense.. but im still gonna question him again on it when i go on the 10th.. my deal is, do the implants, if they do sag then go back 2 mths later and fix that and have a chance that they wont, rather than HAVING to have a 2nd surgery regardless.. kwim? we will see!

How is he getting your insurance to pay for the breast? If he is dupping the insurance company then that might be the reason he wont do the implants because if I'm not mistaken they have to be registered because they are considered a medical device. Make sure that  it will be covered next go round with the implant. I still think its kind of strange because if you look at all the plastic surgery web sites they all do the lifts along with the augmentation. Maybe I'm just being cautious because of all the negitive responses I have gotten from everyone in the OR at the hosptial about him. I really was going to use him until I started asking around. I would love to  have mine covered by the insurance, but even  Dr. Sutton Graham  and Dr. Lovett both said the insurance wont cover what I'm having done that I would have to have documented proof of skin breakdown and possibly they would require pictures of it also. The breast wouldnt be covered at all since its not a reduction, just a lift either with or without the implant. I'm curious about it all. Again make sure he does the implants under the muscle and not on top of it. Hugs! Mary

insurance isnt paying for any of my breast work at all. im having to foot that bill which is another reason i want it all done at one time, even though it would probably cost about the same either way is how they put it..  we didnt even submit the breast to insurance. .he submitted my panniculectomy with pictures and they are covering that. but not the muscle repair. which is the "tummy tuck" portion so im paying the extra for that. they consider muscle repair as cosmetic, but the skin excision not. im still shocked theyre covering it, but i wont complain.. thats another reason im afraid to switch doctors now that they will revoke their approval and might not approve it again. i feel comfortable with him.. im still leary bc of what youve told me.. and thats why i requested another consult before seeing him in the or. i didnt feel comfortable just seeing him once at the consult, getting called approved, and seeing him next in the OR.. i want him to know my body naked very well! and it will give me one more chance to argue my case of why no BL/BA at the same time. because im like you i havent heard of anyone not having both at the same time.. another thing yall might wanna know thats looking into plastics is that memorial doesnt give 2nd and 3rd procedure discounts.. they charge by the procedure and hours . so me having to pay out of pocket for my breast lift they dont discount it because its the 2nd procedure, same OR.. which sucks! st. francis does, but they said memorials prices are lower so it evens out. i dont think it will be as much as they quoted me since its by hours, since i dont have alot of breast tissue to deal with youd think the lift wouldnt take that long at all. we shall see.. i feel like the geuniea pig going with dr. suber first out of our group since he was recommended.. hope its a good decision.

OK, now I got the whole picture, lol. Sorry, I guess I was in the dark on what you are having done. But..... your doing the right thing by wanting another consult, and Jenn I would go ahead and do the implants at the same time. Your putting your body through a lot of stress, especially since you just had to have the surgery with Dr. Bour last week. Being put under anesthesia is a risk anytime you do it, so the less you go under the better off you are. I'm having mine done at Upstate Plastic surgery in their surgical center. They have a full surgical staff and over night stay if needed for any reason. The reason for using their facility all boiled down to having to pay out of pocket for everything, it would have been a lot higher if I had to use the hospital. My total out of pocket came to $11,702.00 so considering what my WLS bill of $ 44,000.00 just for the hospital and not Dr. Bour, I think I am getting off a lot cheaper, lol. I had my first consult and they set everything up that day and it is manditory that I have another pre-op consult where he will go over everything he is doing, do the necessary labs, (I have to get an EKG done and take to him, but I'm doing it at work free of charge, lol), take my before pictures and more measurements of where the nipples and navel will be moved to. He already did the nipples the first time but will do them again. I will be getting all my prescriptions, and will take Sonny this time so he can ask all the questions he has too.  I'm not trying to scare you or discourage you from using  him, like I said he was going to be my first choice, but I started getting too much negative feed back from everyone that it scared me enough to look elsewhere. No one said he does bad work, they just implied he does some things that they find unethical and commented on the fact he has a lot of patients that end up in ICU. I really don't know any more about him other than those few things. Some of the Dr's (anesthesiologist) there wouldnt say why not to use him, but said "stay away from him". Maybe they just have some personal issues with him, I don't know. But sweetie you do what you feel is right for you, I'm sure you will do fine. Are you having it done outpatient or are you staying in the hospital? Let me know, I would love to come see you if your going to stay over night . I'm sorry if I sound like a worry wort mom, but I care about you and want only the best for you, nothing less than what I would want for anyone that I care about. Your an awsome beautiful woman, and so glad I have gotten to know you over the past year. Now we are getting ready to go through another milestone together, lol. OK kid, I am going to be late for work, so you have a great day and take care Jenn. Love Ya! Mary

Be sure and let me know what he says, OK?  I've made an appointment for a consult with Dr. Suber ... will see him next week.  (Do you think he'll let me have a couple of glasses of wine before the nekkid part happens??) Mary's cautions are not falling on deaf ears ... I plan to make an appointment with her guy too.  I'm so scared of this part.  Almost scared enough to forget about doing it altogether.  But then I remind myself that, even though it feels like it a lot of the time, my life really ISN'T over yet!  I may need presentable skin again one day!
