QUICHE RECIPE I FOUND
Ok, i cheated and copied and pasted it, but its high in protein and sounds sooooo yummy, so here ya go.....
a pre-made pie crust (the kind you put in your own pan so it doesn't seem quite as much cheating) and put it in a deep pie dish, pinching the edges of the crust with thumb and fingers so it looks pretty. (The packages come with two crusts so you can either make two quiches or else the pie crusts freeze pretty well; you just have to thaw them well before using again).
I sauteed half an onion, some broccoli, and a carrot in some olive oil (but you can use any veggies you like). Once it was done (leaving the broccoli a little crispy still but mostly cooked) I added some frozen peas and then the chopped up leftover chicken to warm it up.
I then spooned the filling into the pie crust using a slotted spoon so there was no juice, making sure it was even out to the sides. To this I added a mix of shredded swiss and cheddar cheeses, about 1 cup total, reserving a little bit for the top to make a nice cheesy crust. Some people like mozzarella, but I like swiss. And you can use low fat or fat free cheese, too, but I like the real stuff.
Then I lightly beat four eggs and added 1.5 cups of milk and salt and pepper to taste and poured all that into the pie dish over the filling and cheese. Then I topped it with the remainder of the cheese for a little cheesy crust, added a little pepper to the top to make it pretty.
I then popped it in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes until a knife inserted in the center came out clean.
It was very tasty. :)

SouthWest style egg beaters ( sm carton), mix in 12 can of ff evap milk and add my own extra mushroom and onions, salt, pepper, lots of garlic and I use mexican quesidilla cheese ( about a cup), mix it all together dump it into a deepdish premade frozen pie crust ( in know ) and bake about 40-50 minutes...Once its done cut into 8 wedges, used a recipe calculator has 217 cals, 17 fat, 12 carbs and 17 protein in each slice...It wonderful and after I cut it into wedges I have frozen them individually in the quart size freezer bags, reheats pretty well in the micro...
Thanks for the recipes, they sound yummy. I have been searching for good quiche recipies.
What diet phase are you now? I was thinking it was a little too early for you to be eating that! Remember your pouch is still healing and we don't want to hurt our pouch!! I am 3 months out and didn't eat quiche until 2 1/2 months.
When do you get the drain out? That was one of the most wonderful days of my life LOL!
HI, Karen! I get my drain out this wednesday ...the incision is really sore around the drain this week, is that normal? Also, I am on full liquids, just always looking for good recipes for down the road. I am no longer having trouble getting my protein in since the options are so much better, however, i am having a horrible time getting my water in, which i am a HUGE water drinker. the problem is...I sip all day...and I use the 17 oz bottles of water to keep track, but I stay so full from drinking/sipping water all day, plus my protein drinks, plus trying to eat every 2 hours, i am only getting in about 34 oz of water instead of the necessary 48+...any suggestions? Also, what pureed foods do you like the most while on the puree phase...and how long does that last?
Thanks!
Melissa
