Update on My Mom

I know I haven't been around much, but my clone I ordered, hasn't come in yet.  Let me tell ya what has been going on lately........................... Sunday, July 29th, my mom had a stroke.  I took her to Summerville Medical center and we were there until Monday, August 6th.  I stayed with her all day and night, coming home every other day to take a shower (stop plugging your nose).  On August 6th, she was taken to Health South by Trident Hops.  That place is great.  On Friday, August 17th, she came home...with me.  She is walking slow, but pretty good.  She has to think about what she is saying, (she swtiches from FM to AM on me), but is doing good there too.  She still can't read or tell time.  I know she loves having me cook 3 times a day for her.   I have been so upset with my brothers and sisters, they hardly have even checked in on her. Then my teenage son (the same one that has given me so much trouble) decided I was a fu*&*%g  B*&*h, the day we were changing moma from the hospital to Health South.  I don't have one more ounce of energy to give to stupid stuff, so I invited him to leave my home.  With the help of Susan, to keep me from doing or saying something I would regret, she took him to one of my sister's homes.  He has been there for 2 weeks and I must say it has been nice. Then out of the blue, my father and law and his new wife decide to pop in from Michigan, while we were having the inside and front doors replaced.  It was so good to be with them.  But the dramma with my mamma and my son, and school starting was in full bloom. So Monday I take my son to the Army recruter, and he still has a few things to be done (pass the drug test, ASVAB, ect)  but hopefully, he can go into the military and release some aggression there.  And MAYBE...just...MAYBE  mature and get responsible.   So, now I have a few minutes to myself...CALGON...TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!! That's some of why I have been MIA.  (Kinda long winded I know) But thanks for the prayers for my mom. Deb

Hey Deb!      I am so sorry for all of your heartache, and am so glad I got to share a moment of fun with you when I was recently there.    I know how hard family issues can be, my family has been BEYOND difficult as of late, and they seem to rattle me to NO end....  but I try to just carry on....   I truly send you  hug and a smile and perhaps one day soon I will enjoy some fun with you again, one never knows.     Please do not feel that you can not reach out to me, ever... hugs, J.

Hey, Deb!!  I wish I was there with you to give you some hugs...  Your drama is almost parallel to mine with my mother.  She had a stroke in the front left lobe (which primarily affects the speech) in 11/01 - yup, 2 months after 9/11... She went to Health South for treatment & then for speech therapy.  She seemed to like it.  She was able to go back to her own apartment, but my partner and I were there at least once or twice a day.  She's since gone and I miss her dearly, but I know her life after the stroke was as full as possible. As for the son - GOOOOOO ARMY (or whichever branch he's going in - notice the positive vibes there)!!!! You are an awesome woman & I am very proud of you!  If you need an additional shoulder or ear - just holler... Hugs & Kisses  , Hellen

HI Deb I'll be sure to have good thoughts for your Mom. Good luck with your son-I hope it works out. You did the right thing asking him to leave the house. If he cannot respect the incredible drama and pressure yu were going thru with your Mom-get out. He's not working to be part of the family-he's working against it and you need to take care of you so you can take of your Mom. Good for you-you're a strong woman....I hope everything works out for you. You go cowgirl...keep that strength up Chris
