Grrrrrrrr.....I hate exercise....
I am getting so pissed at the whole idea of exercise. I don't exercise for 2 weeks and lose like 3lbs. Then as soon as I start exercising I gain them back and begin stalling again. I know, I know, I know muscle weighs more than fat blah, blah, blah. But, it is so impossible to get motivated to hit the gym when the results are not showing anywhere. I know I should be doing it for my health but I honestly just want to lose some more weight. Anyone got any suggestions to jump start the weight loss. I'm gonna try to increase my protein...Can you take in too much protein? I also plan to cut out white carbs. If it isn't a complex carbohydrate like fruit, veggies, or wheat bread, I won't eat it. Ok and here is the kicker. I think I eat too much of a good thing...Like WATERMELON. I have eaten half a watermelon in 24 hours. I pee like a race horse. I guess I could be eating junk bu****ermelon and fage protein yogurt are hardly junk. This is what I ate today...Honestly....tell me what you think.
Breakfast - Protein bar - 280 cals - 30 g protein
Lunch - Enchilada with rice. (did not eat the beans) at a few chips (15?)
Snack - Fage yogurt with fruit spread - 160 cals - 17 g protein
Snack II - Watermelon
Dinner - piece of pizza from last night (pretty large) and slice of watermelon.
I think my pouch must be freakin huge now. Oh gosh...I can eat way too much. I don't wanta gain this back. I'm no through losing yet. ARGH!!!! So frustrating. I still think he should have removed our taste buds. I still love food.

I have always had the same thing happen to me when dieting. I start to exercise and the weight loss completely stops or I start gaining and it's not muscle, no matter what anyone says. When I was going to Nutri-system they made me stop exercising because I had started gaining weight as soon as I started and it wouldn't come back down until I stopped. So go figure, I never could. It happened on Atkins diet too. As far as the watermellon goes, it is the highest in natural sugar of any fruit, and I mentioned to Katie at Dr. Bours that I had been eating some and she said to watch it because of the sugar in it. I could eat my weight in watermellon, but I have been good and not eaten a whole lot of it, just enough to satisfy the craving I have had for it. She said to be careful with all fruit not just the melon. You know that I have always been able to eat more than they tell us we should, but I have been this way since the very begining. I worry all the time my pouch is stretched.
Maybe someone will figure it out for us, lol, I sure can't.

I recently had a similar experience. I got back in the gym after a 2month layoff and put on 5lbs. But I also lost an inch in my waist!. I'm sticking with it. I feel better and have more energy. But I admit, I hate going to the gym. However, I'm always glad after I've been when it's all over. Exercise will also keep the blues away. More muscle will increase you RMR (resting metabolic rate).

Stick with the Exercise, Rachel. You sound like me, your body has figured out what you are doing with your food changes and doesn't like it. I was at the point where I had lost a lot of lean muscle, so my body was hanging on to everything that I ate. The key is getting that lean muscle back and you do this with resistance training. That way, like Eddie said, your metabolism will be increased even when you are doing nothing. But you have to make it a habit (I'm still working on this, but I do have a trainer now). I have also heard from friend of mine (who also happens to be a personal trainer) to watch when you eat certain foods. He said to eat complex carbs (like a plain baked potato) before working out...it will help to give you energy while working out. And never eat any carbs after working out or at night. He said the worst thing that you can do is eat carbs, then do nothing. Since you aren't doing anything, it doesn't need the "fuel", so it is stored as fat.
Hang in there girlie... I am still trying to figure all of this out. To me, it's just that the things that worked in the beginning don't work now. I'm having to relearn everything.....but the biggest key to all of it is Exercise. I just wish that I had figured that out a year ago!!

I am with you Rachel.... I have been doing WATP with Leslie Sansone for
awhile... thought I would bump it up some so I ordered Power 90 by Tony
Whatshisface.... anyway I have done that for only 2 days but I thought I would
drop at least an ounce... did I .....NO!!! In fact I gained.... I am going to give
a couple of more weeks and maybe trade it for Slim in 6. Power 90 does
jumping jacks and some other things that bother my knees and when I
try to run in place or jump all my excess about beats me to death.
I was doing push ups... well trying any way.... and I thought to myself
something feels funny in my pocket when I go down... I realized yesterday that it was
the excess skin/fat hanging down and getting caught between the
floor and my body. How crazy and ugly!!! EWWWWW.... I can't wait to
have it cut off some day.....
Well, keep up the good work girl.... you are looking awesome and you
look like a little teenager....
