Hello!   I am new to Greenville, sorta.  I graduated from Furman a year ago, and then my husband and I moved to Northern Virginia.  Now we are back in Greenville, and I am trying to keep on track with my surgery.  The move threw a huge kink in my weight loss.  I want to start Dance classes, and I am looking at a lot of the studios, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of the dance studios in the area and could give me some advice on which ones are adult friendly.  I want to take tap, ballet, jazz, hiphop, and modern classes.  I danced before college, and now I want to get back into it.  I would appreciate any guidance anyone has to offer.   Also, I am trying to find a support group.  My surgeon in Northern Virginia had one, and I will admit I only went once (I had surgery in March), but now I think I need the support.  Does anyone go to a support group in Greenville?   Thanks!!! Cynthia

Hi Cynthia and Welcome Back The UPS ladies and Gents are great and so much fun!  They have been a great support for me and I am in the Low Country. You will love them!

I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!

Hi Cynthia, and welcome home! I have no info about dance classes in the area, but Jennifer R may be able to point you toward some adult-friendly classes.  She takes classes in Spartanburg, I think.  I'm sure she'll see your post and respond. Dr. Bour (Greenville's WL surgeon) has a weekly support group meeting at his office, but I'm pretty sure you have to be his patient to attend that one.

We try and get together to socialize and support each other at least once a week (usually on Monday evenings after Dr. Bour's meetings), and we'll post here on the message board when and where.  In fact, check out Kathy's post about the belly dancing class tonight ... http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/SC/a,messageboard/action,r eplies/board_id,4842/cat_id,4442/topic_id,3371923/ Looking forward to meeting you soon!
