just when i thought things were looking up..

katie said i could have this surgery up to like 2 weeks before the tummy tuck and be okay. i was like whoa! but i dont want it that close together.  so im hoping at the earliest the 20th will work out for them .. she was checking to see what patient was having wls that day to make sure they could do me on the same day as them.. i guess making sure it wasnt too hard of  a case . ill let you know for sure about how hard the tummy tuck is..  lol my stomach is worryin me its so swollen. from my awful monthly and the hernia is probably causing some swelling. i look 3 mths pregnant right now. .LOL at least i have the skin to fill it out if i need it .. i wonder if the period makes it worse? weird!

Wow Jen...if it's not one thing, it's another!! So what kind of symptoms did you have?? You know I'll keep you in my prayers!!

Thanks Dianne :) My symptoms have been strange. Looking at my body as a whole since a while back i have not had good stools for a long time. its like i would back up and then i would have stomach cramping and it would turn into loose stool to come out. gross i know. and when i go its ALOT . .abnormally so. lol ..but other than the poop issues, a couple of weeks ago i had a stomach virus and i think the throwing up and not eating for a day must of made it flare up or something, everytime i would eat for a week i would get SOO  nauseated that i would dry heave and would have horrible back pains almost like a gallbladder attack but i dont have a gallbladder, i had to take phenergen bc it was so bad with nausea. after a couple of weeks of this i asked dr bour last monday night if it was a possible hernia, he first said lets wait it out then he was like well youre not a complainer lets go ahead and get a ct scan.. so i guess its good i didnt complain before about anything or i wouldnt of had the scan LOL its weird though i have felt like something wasnt right. the pain i get in my stomach out of no where and the sudden horrible diahrea.. it must be a pretty bad one bc most hernias arent picked up on ct scans so im sure it would be hard to know if you had a small one since my symptoms i have just written off as "i dont have a gallbladder, appendix, and i had wls" pains and poop.. goes to show if you dont feel "right" then you should get checked.  thanks for the prayers!

Hello Sweetie,     I am so sorry you are going to have 2 surgeries, but just think how much bette you will feel once its over. The hernia/ differenthernia problem that you have, sounds terribly painful. I know you will feel  so much better after the surgery.  Please have a wonderful time in Florida, and hopfully you will have a pain free trip. You will be in my thoughts. hugs-

Jennifer... after you have the hernia repair... ask ALL of the providers (surgeon, anes, hospital) for itemized bills... If I were you, I'd submit it to your insurance anyways.  If KATIE is right, and your insurance doesnt cover complications related to WLS... the WHY ARE THEY PAYING FOR YOUR PLASTICS?!?!?! That doesnt make any sense. And for as long as I have worked in insurance... I have never seen them deny a claim for another condition just because it relates to something thats excluded under the plan.... thats retarded!!!  but I bet they will cover it... and as long as its OP, you dont need to get it authorized... so my advice... SUBMIT THE CLAIM YOURSELF!!!! whats the worst that can happen?!?!? IM SO SORRY ABOUT THAT NEWS!!!!

Everybody that I have told this story to cannot get over the ridiculous notion that your insurance will cover the tummy tuck and deny the WLS complication.  Grrrrrr ... health care in this country is messed up! I waited at Hillcrest for almost 4 hours yesterday ... the CT scanner was broken.  Niiice.  At least I didn't have to drink the evil potion.  They were waiting to give it to me until after the repairman gave them an estimate on how long it would take to repair the machine.  She rescheduled me to have one at Patewood on Wednesday.  Since my appt with Dr. Bour is on Thursday, I stopped by the office to see if they could schedule one sooner than that.  Carmen got me in at Allen Bennett today at noon ... so hopefully the scanner will be functional there.  (More pain after eating last night ... if I don't eat, I feel fine.  ) I can't even tell you how sorry I am that this has happened to you, Jen ... hopefully it'll just be a tiny bump in the road.  (Helluva $$$$$ bump though.  )

I can't believe that!  Insurance is so rediculous!  I hope everything works out for you quickly.  I will be thinking about ya!!!!
