Please pray for my mom

Hey yall.  I haven't been on line for what seems like forever.  Last Sunday morning my mom came to my house not feeling well.  She could not talk or think right.  After I could not talk her into going to the hospital, I tricked her by looking up stroke symptoms on the computer and she had them all.  I told her we had to go to the hospital or I was calling 911.  They admitted her right away.  By Monday she was worse.  She had a temperal artery biopsy done on Thursday, and things came back good.  She is a little wobblie and can't speak very well, and her thinking is major cloudy, but I still thank God and believe we were lucky. I am the oldest of 6 kids, and we all live right here in S'ville around her, but none of my other brother's or sister's are helping.  I have come home from the hospital 4-maybe 5 times to change clothes and take a shower, them I am right back by her side.  Sleeping in a chair is killing my back and I find myself getting real mean going without real sleep. I just don't understand how my brother's and sister's can be so selfish.  We weren't raised like this.  My mom was everything to us.  I guess they know I will take care of her.  My brothers's and sister's have been home napping and just living their life without a care.  It breaks my heart for my mom.  I tell her they have been there to visit, but she was sleeping and missed them. On Monday they are suppose to take her to Health South for alot of rehab therapy.  I am not even calling them anymore to give an update or tell them where she is. My oldest son and Susan's neice have been life savers for me.  They have sit with her while I go home to take a shower for a few hours the past 3 days.  And Susan brought over supper for my family. Thanks for letting me vent.  I just don't understand selfish people. Please pray for my mom that she gets better.  And please pray for my family that their hearts are so filled with guilt that they do the right thing.  And please pray for me that I hold my tounge to them and don't say something too ugly. Right now we are in S'ville medical Center in room 317.  When she gets moved we will be in the Health South building over by Trident Hospital. Thanks in advance for your prayers and Love. Deb

Debbie I'll keep your mom and family in my thoughts... I'm so sorry your family is being this way... I can remember before my mom died with cancer my family would even offer to help me with her.. I was with her when she died and it was so hard on me to coupe.. I really don't think I've ever gotten over it.. good luck hon and I wished I was there to help you out... Stephie

I am sorry to hear all of this Deb.  The  only thing  I can tell you is that years from now when your Mom is gone you will know you were always there for her like she was for you.  I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.  Your brothers and sisters will live to regret their actions and I can only hope they realize it before it is too late.

Meantime, get your Mom well and home..... We love you and are hear for you if you need us!

yes Deb will have the church here say a prayer for your mom ,put it in Gods hands he knows the best  about your brother & sisters they will reg it if something happens & they are not there ,know how you feel my sis dnt help my mom at all & she is in bad health I had to drive from SC to help her if she needed anything so I know how you feel that is why I am thankfull I am here now where I can come see her every dy now just to check on her my sis lives 3 miles from here & comes & sees her about 1 a month & drives right by her house to go to wrk I told her she needs to stop by after wrk at least 5 min a day but I guess she dnt have enough time ,so all you can do is have faith & put it in Gods hands & take care of your mom no matter what your other family does ,best wishes for you MOM

Oh Deb!!!  I've been thinking about you so much.   I've been thinking that I would really like to just talk to you sometime about the "things" we have in common but those can wait.  What is important now is your mom and taking care of yourself.  I'm sorry about your Brothers and Sisters.  My mom deals with that a lot.  Her brother gives her no help but he enjoys spending my g-ma's money while she is in the nursing home.  Let me know when things calm down for you and I will give you a call sometime.  I still have you card.
