RE: 2nd Appeals Committee Meeting/Conference Call

Well, everyone, I spoke to my "Appeals Processor" today & put in my request to be included in the committee meeting via a conference call.  He was a nice gentleman who said they'd call me (I'm having to use my cell phone at work), the information would be presented, I'd have up to 10 minutes to present my case, and they'll probably have questions for me.  I say "BRING 'EM ON!"  I made sure he had all possible info from my PCP & Dr. Byrne's office.  I also told him I'd be gathering some additional information and faxing it to him prior to the call on Wednesday.   So I've got from now 'til 9:55am Wednesday morning to put together a list of medications, costs, doctors, costs, illnesses, costs, and, oh yes, cost of the surgery versus the existing and future COSTS of keeping me alive.  Since insurance is a business (not really a humanitarian one sometimes), it's necessary to put it in $$$s so it makes some sense. Thank-you everyone who answered & I'll post again after Wednesday.  Keep the prayers coming...  I'll be here for you, too! Hellen

Best of wishes to you.  I'll be praying and thinking about you.  I know this is frustrating but you can and will win this.  Just pull all the stops and blast them with anything.  I might even add the cost of any surgery that you might have to have that is obesity related.  You'll get this. Rachel
