Dear scgrmom, Congratulations on your surgery date, mine was 5/09/07 at MUSC, the one thing I took to the hospital which was a real blessing was chapstick, all my friends told me about this and boy were they right,  I will say a prayer that your surgery goes well,  sincerely,Gayle

You will have every kind of emotion imaginable between now and your surgery and you will get nervous - we all did.  BUT, this is the best decision I ever made and wouldn't go back for the world As for food, make sure you have lots of sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello...and of course make sure you sip, sip,sip water all day long. All of the docs have different opinions on the after surgery diet, so you will get the best advice from him and his other patients. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and can't wait to welcome you to the loser's bench

Hi Well seen Dr Ross today.  What a sweetheart, he answered all our questions even if they sounded dumb. I made a list of things I wonted to ask I felt silly asking so many questions, but no matter what i read, I still wonted to double check with him. He just laught and told me no question was stupid and went down the list.  What a patient and kind person.   Monday I go to SRMC for pre-op and classes.  Sounds like an all day thing.   Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers. I'm going shopping tomorrow for a light nightgown and robe,Chapstick and SF Jello.  Oh and a good novel.   Keep me and my family in you prayers.  Florence
