Dr Harvey appt..and a few questions
Hi everyone...I don't post much but I do read here a lot. I should post more but I am a lil shy! I am 15 months post op and doing good. I startedat 320 and now weigh 206. I am concerned because I am 26 pounds to goal. I have an appointment with Dr Harvey on Friday to consult about tt/breast reduction-lift. Do you think I am too far away? Alot of tissue/fat is still in my abdomen area. Ya know the apron overhang?! I should add that I am 6 foot too. Now, here is a biggie. I am not getting protein drinks down. I just add water to the powder and drink. I see all these recipes. Does that help with the taste? I had no education on this part. Thanks
Wendy
Wendy,
First of all you have done the most amazing job getting so close to your goal. I had my plastics done early due to back pain, but it worked out fine. I lost a total of 14 pounds from my belly and breast reduction.
Dr. Harvey is very upfront about his surgeries. He has told me that the most important part of it is to be as stable as possible. Its not good to lose or gain a lot of weight after your surgery. He also will tell you if you are ready.
What I liked about him is that it doesn't feel like a factory (that's how my first plastic surgeon was, he just wanted my money). He really listens to your concerns and is truly caring. I'll PM you my information if you have any questions. My Dad has a farm in Walterboro, we'll have to have a Walterboro meeting someday!!!

Hi Wendy!
That is a good question...we are probably comparible, being you are 206 and 6 ft, and I am 179 and 5'4". I have my PS appointment a week from today, and I am anxious to see if my PS will do an abdominoplasty. I am what...13 months post op? I'd like to have it done around November. So I am wondering what the PS will say...if I have lost enough to have it done. Almost all my excess weight is now in my tummy area. I have a big apron that hangs down too. Let me know how you appt. goes, and I'll update you on mine next week! :)
Hi Wendy,
I had a consult with Dr. Harvey a couple weeks ago and I like him also (Mary recommended him to me). But he did tell me that he would like for me to be 10-15 lbs from goal when he does the surgery. He said that if I was in that weight range that 10-15 lbs wouldn't really make much of a difference in the outcome of the TT/BL. I'm looking into an October timeframe for myself - hopefully I'll be able to get to goal by then. Only 15-20 lbs to go for me but it is hard to get those last few lbs off! Good luck with the consult!

Hi Wendy Congrats on the weight loss that is wonderful
I am having my TT on Aug 30th with Dr. Harvey WOO HOO... Can you tell I am excited. Most recommend that you be at least 2 years out but I am so close to goal, less than 10 lbs, that Dr. H says it is OK. But talk to him about it and all your concerns. I am going to be about 3 wks shy of 18 mths post op from WLS. I too am bad about getting my protein in but I am trying to get better at it.
Good Luck on Friday and let us know how it goes.
Julie
I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.
My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!
