Crochet Anyone?
Okay everyone. I called The Yarn and Frame Peddler on Wade Hampton Blvd. The lady that teaches the class is out of town right now but she told us to come on in. I can't go up there til next Tuesday with the way my schedule is. I think I can teach everyone how to start out and there is no fee if we don't use the teacher. The lady was very nice and said she would glad to have us. So I will check it out and let yall know. Have a great Day!!!!! I was just wondering if anyone in the Greenville area crochets? I have just started a couple of years back and would love to start a meeting so everyone can talk and crochet. Even help me read a pattern, LOL.

I can crochet but I am not too good at reading the patterns. I have been working on an afghan for my mom for the last 10 years! I too would like to do some type of crochet/knitting group...I have a book about doing a "Prayer Shawl" ministry group. I think that would be pretty neat. I would definitely need an expert in the group to help me though! Of course, just sitting around talking is fun too! Let me know if you get anything started!

My grandmother, who was totally blind, tried to teach me how to crochet when I was younger, but ........I never quite grasped how to do it, lol. I would love to learn so if you get people interested enough to do this let me know, maybe I can learn it now that I am older. I need a hobby other than this damn computer and definetly need some social time with the ladies.

Me too! me too! I tried to learn to crochet, but I've never really made anything, just long long strings! LOL!!
Anyway, it was one way to keep me from yelling at my hubby on roadtrips (because he drives like a maniac.) and it also keeps me from grazing.
I have all the stuff. My grandma TRIED to tech me, but I never really caught on...
Count me in when ever you guys decide to get together!
I noticed in the paper that there's a place on Wade Hampton Blvd that you can take lessons...you can also take them sometimes at Michael's, AC Moore and Hobby Lobby. Maybe if we can get up a big enough group they'll do a lesson just for us! But even if we just sit and do chain stitches all day, it would be fun to hang out and have some "girl time" that doesn't involve food or the computer (for you mary!!).

I have taken a few lessons but I am sure I am not good enough to try and teach anyone, LOL. So far about 5 of us and I know AC Moore's has classes but they are usually scheduled for the public also. I don't know if they would do one just for us but we could check. AC Moore also does their classes in the middle of the aisle. What's the place on Wade Hampton that has lessons? When Han**** Fabric was in Simpsonville they had classes and had a little room in the back.

It's the Yarn and Frame Peddler, 3320 Wade Hampton Blvd, Taylors. I'm not sure where in Taylors it is located but there's only a few mile stretch on WH Blvd that's considered Taylors! Their number is 268-7502. The ad I saw was for a class last week and the fee was $10-$20. They may even cut us a deal if we can guarantee a certain # of participants. It would definitely be worth it to go for a few times and then we can branch out on our own once we're pros!!!
