Welcome to the boards, and ignore Chri's rantings. He does like when we abuse him, and soooooo wonders what is wrong with us when we do not...so heap it on...by the way today is offically Chri's day again, but instead of him choosing us to be kind...it is the ditz day.

I am a nurse, and have been since 1992. I enjoy what I do...well maybe not this week but usually I do. I too have been laid off from work, but being in healthcare and there is someone always sick. It was a very short layoff (mmm 2 days I think it was). I feel blessed that I chose a career that I have a steady income, I grew up with parents in the textiles that were laid off at different times over the years.

I used to be a speech therapist for Spartanburg School District #7 but next year I will be working as an Early Intervention Special Education Teacher at the School for the Deaf and the Blind. I'm so excited. I get to work with children 6 weeks -3 years old.

Welcome Karen, I don't get on the boards much anymore, but I do lurk around every few days. I work for the prosecutor's office and I will also be going back to school full time in august. This is a good bunch of folks on here, highly entertaining.

Hey Stephanie, didn't know if I were missed or not, but it's nice to know i was. I've been around, lots of stuff going on. Been real busy at work, just got back on-line at home so i can check in from there some too. Trying to get stuff ready for going back to school, dealing with financial aid crap has been a real pain. On a personal level, my son and his wife are getting a divorce, he getting custody of the 2 children, they have moved back in with me until after court hearing when they can get their house sold and he can find him and kids another place. I've just been a little stressed, not really in a talking mood. Weight loss has almost stopped, i've hit a wall or something. I'm down 73 pounds, starting to get into some size 12, but still about 40 pounds from goal. I've got to step it up and get back on track. Hope you are doing well.
