Thought maybe it could help explain our need to exercise, and not exercise too much, better.
I so agree with that article. Most people do not know but my College degree is in Sports Medicine. Yep I wanted to be an Athletic Training/Physical Therapirst back in the day. Something about hot athletes in those tight pants. WOOO!!!!!!!!!!! So I did a lot of studying on excerise and it is true, you should not work the same muscle group 2 days in a row. You should give that muscle group a rest. Cardio should stay to about 20-30 minutes. If you do not mind my 2 cents. If you are doing weight bearing excerise, you should warm up with Cardio, any where from 10-20 minutes, then either work your upper or lower body with the weights. I usually always ended with about 10 minutes of cardio, when I went to a gym, just so I would get the 30 minutes of Cardio. I only walk about 3-4 times a week, depending on how busy I am. So I do give my muscles a break. You should also change things up a bit. If you ride the bike for cardio, try a stair master or the ellipitcal. This will keep things from getting boring, to you and your body.
Like I said, my 2 cents. And what I learned all those years ago. But the exercise community changes its opinion every 5 minutes, if you know what I mean.
But great article Kathy.

I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.
My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!
