What to expect?

My one month post op visit is friday.  I'm a little nervous.  I personally feel like my weight loss is a little slow.  Other people approaching their check up have told me how much weight Dr Bour wanted them to lose at one month out, but no one told me.  On the day of my surgery I weighed 265, b4 optifast I weighed 274, now I am down to 238, which I know is pretty good, I feel good, but tell me does this seem about right or a little slow??  where should I be?

I'm not sure about Dr. Bour's expectations, but 27 lbs. in a month is GREAT.  I know our Dr. Byrne down here would be happy with that!  I lots about 20 lbs. each of the 1st 3 months, then it tapered off a little.

Keep up the good work and you'll be there before you know it.

Dr Bour expects 10 % of your body weight lost in the first month. I just figured yours, you started at 265, minus 26.5 lbs is 10 percent.. which would make you at 238.50 to be on target.. and YOU ARE BELOW THAT by Half a pound!!! GREAT JOB!!!! He will be happy!!! Youve done wonderful.. What time is your appt? I have my 1 YEAR check up friday at 11! LOL Funny.

You sound right on target to me.  Not slow at all.  That is alot of weight to lose in a month.  You'll do fine.  Don't worry.  Dr. Bour isn't that scary.  If you do end up being a slow loser, he understands.  Everyone is different, but in the end, all successful ones end up in pretty much the same place. It also depends on the shape of your body to how fast the weight comes off. I have apple shape. I was behind most others, but have maintained a standard percentage loss over my six months. Dr Bour said my cruve was just shifted and to keep up the hard work.

Your doing great! If you want to see slowwwww look at my page, I have all my weights listed. My weight loss is like a slug moving through mud. So if you need cheering up go see what I have lost and how long it is taking me. I'm 7 months out and have lost 70 pounds all total, it sucks, but I am 70 less than I was this time last year, so that makes me smile. Mary
