Its always good to have guy time....then on Saturday I met up with a good friend and had the BEST time just talking and talking....Sunday worked but the whole family came with me so I would not be alone for fathers day. In two words.... BUSY AND SICK.  I even forgot to get my father a card and did not remember to wish him a Happy Father's day until well into the evening   After me trying to keep as free as possible this weekend, my brother who is getting ready to go to Kuwait for 2 years was in town, it just did not work out.  So I got to spend all of about 4 hours with him and one of my nephews.  Luckily my nephews will be back in town next month, but I probably will not see my brother for 2 years!   And he is my favorite brother. So now I am back at my other job, whining and venting on your post.  It is crazy that I have to come to work to get catch up on things. Julie

I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!

Weekend was great!  Sat I went shopping for Father's Day! Got him a new fishing pole and some CROC flops!  Then went home and chilled. Sunday was a blast... we floated down the Edisto River for almost 5 hours. There were 10 of us! We put in at Good Hope Landing and cruised down to Jellicho... FUN FUN FUN!!!! I am a big loser cause I didnt put block on so today my face and shoulders are pretty scorched! But it was too much fun for me to care....

Oh!  I have always wanted to float down a river for just hours.  We need to get a group together and just do that.  How much fun would that be?  All our rivers up here have freaking rocks and rapids so no peaceful floating here.  I was out of that lake at lake murray all weekend but I did remember my sun block so I didn't get burned.  Whew!!! The spot we float is smooth sailing. There a few spots that you have to paddle to the left or right to avoid fallen trees, but nothing serious.  We use a two man boat to carry the cooler and we just rotate people to tow it.  There are TWO big beachy spots to stop along the way that are pretty spacious. Other than that... there are just lil spots. 85 % of the Edisto is shallow enough that if you hopped off your floaty... you could walk... and thats the best. Good Hope Landing is in Cottageville, off hwy 61. You drop off there and pick up at Jellico. The two spots are less than 10 miles from each other, but it takes a SOLID 4 hours to float it. More if you stop and play/eat... BUT ITS A BLAST!!!!

My weekend was ok.  I had friends over on Saturday night.  I cooked.  It was good.  I got tons of leftover chicken tortilla soup.  I could feed our entire support group.  It has very little fat.  I only used about a tbsp of olive oil to saute the onions and garlic and that was it.  Everything else was fat free, except for the minimal amount of fat on the chicken breasts I used.  My daughter gave  her daddy a sweet card that she made at school.  He especially like it because it had that he was 24 years old on there.  LOL! (he's 41)  She also got him the Mummy boxed set (they both love those movies) and a Packers T-shirt.   On Saturday, I pretty much laid around all day.  It was heavan.  But then I couldn't sleep at all last night.  So I am surviving on coffee to day.

Good morning (all most afternoon) to you... I had a great weekend.... my Anna came back from camp, left again with her CMT group from church yesterday, waited on my husband almost hand foot yesterday... even cooked a big lunch for him on Father's Day. I did not dread coming into work today... because I am at a new job and it is so different and wonderful from my last job.  I love it! I hope you had a wonderful Father's Day!  Pam
