another long post.. about my life LOL
ok.. i know yall are going to think im nuts and i agree.. but!!! LOL for the past 4 1/2 years since Karington was born, There has been a child in our bed with us.. EVERY NIGHT.. Even after Kassidy began co-sleeping after she was born, Karington slept in a toddler bed BESIDE our bed in our bedroom.. So our bedroom , every night, has had 4 people in it since Dec. '02!!! yes.. im crazy.. On top of that, neither of my kids have been good sleepers.. (probably because of the co-sleeping once they get old enough to squirm around they start waking up 2 and 3 times a night! but WONT sleep alone, so its a double edged sword.) SOOO Tonight for the First time ever!!! There are no kids in my room.. I took Karington in her room (it has the pull out trundle with her bed i used for kassidy to sleep in the same room with her) .. and she fell asleep, I layed down with kassidy and got her to sleep, and snuck out!.. It wasnt all on her own, but its a BIG Step for me! and them.. lol.. My friend Elizabeth coming to keep them at the "clubhouse" now during the day has been a GOD SEND! She is such a neat freak, and takes SUCH good care of them, its amazing!!! Kassidy would NEVER EVER Take a nap there unless she just passed out playing in the floor, now she goes at 1 pm , EVERY day and sleeps in a toddler bed on her OWN .. all Elizabeth tells her is "goodnight" and she goes! neither of my kids would do that before. theyre rotten as heck obviously.. SO im trying to break that! for them and me.. SOO We will see how tonight goes.. Maybe she wont wake up at all since she has the bed to herself? I hope not.. I have the lights on in the hall and foyer so she can see to come to my room if she does wake up.. but yall keep ur fingers crossed!! ill update ya in the morning. haha .. (and rachel i couldnt read your post about motivation its not working for me?? )

Yay for you, Jen!! I hope that they stayed put for the night. I had issues with Danny when he was little with staying in the bed. I always had to lay down with him, then "sneak" out....and he always found his way into my room later in the night. When he was 4, we started having a "goodnight ritual"...and it was working pretty good until his dad left. Then I let him go back to sleeping in my bed. It's so hard to break that habit with them, and while they are so cute and cuddly, stand your ground!! Good Night!!!

I have been kid free in my bed for a few years Jennifer, but I can so relate with you on this subject. We had a family bed until each of my boys were 5. I finally talked them into sleeping in their own beds telling them they couldn't go to school unless they slept by themselves. Mean trick, but it worked! Let me tell you now though..looking back I don't regret letting them sleep with me. They grow so fast and they were only small..not long enough. My kids are 14, 10 and 9. I could never let my daughter sleep with us...she is a bed slasher..lol.

Hey Jenn
David slept in the bed with me and Steve from the day he came home from the hospital. With Steve working out of town, I didn't mind the company. When we moved into our new house last May, he had a room across from us and we explained to him it was time to be a big boy and start sleeping in his own bed. Sooooo It took us 5years, but he finally started sleeping by himself in his own room. So congratulations, this is a big step. They are growing up on you. Don't enjoy all that alone time too much or you'll have another in your room another couple of years. Have a good day.
