New Pics

This is a long post, so if you just want to see the pics, here you go... :)  If you want to know more about surgery in Mexico, I have a lot of info on my journal page, and archives and from this surgery as well, below.

I had my breast lift and augmentation done last Thursday.  It went very well, and while I was there he did lipo a little bit (all there was left) of my upper abs...150cc's. :)

He also did a scar revision on my LBL incision in the lower left front of my incision.  It was an easy operation and I am so pleased with everything.  Dr Fuentes is such an artist. :-)  He did not have to do the anchor or crescent incision, because the implants filled up the space so well, and he was able to remove the excess skin around the areola.   

I am so happy, because other doctors had said they would do the anchor incision, and would not have even tried not to do the incision.  I am so thankful because this man has saved me from several unnecessary incisions and I am so thrilled with everything.

On my LBL, 3 stateside docs said they would do the vertical incision with the incision that went all the way around my body.  Dr Fuentes said, nonsense, he could do the LBL without the vertical incision, and if I still had skin to be removed in my upper abs (the reason for the vertical incision from the other docs), he could hide it in my breast lift incision.

  So, when I woke up, he said he did not have to do that because the lipo, and the LBL technique he used back in December, eleminated him having to do the upper ab incision with a breast lift incision as well.  So, I have no scars on my belly at all now, except from a small lap surgery for my bile duct last year!!

He used the high profile, Mentor, cohesive gel implants (gummie bears) so I don't have to worry about silicone jelly...the old kind.  I did not want saline, they tend to wrinkle under the skin, especially in women who are thin, and they can harbour bacteria/mold in the water, and they can burst if you were to get hit on your chest, or accident or something.

 A friend's wife had to have both her saline implants replaced when her 2 yr old son jumped on her chest and popped one.  They have to, because they can't make them match again.  I am very happy with the cohesive gels...if you were to get your boobs cut in 1/2...yikes!  The implants are like a gummie bear, soft, but a solid material.

I am happy to answer any questions!!  The first one I will answer here:  The cost of the Breast Lift/Augmentation, including anesthesia and implants which are $1,000 alone, was $3900, plus $300 for the small liposuction of my upper abs.  If it had been a lot of lipo, it would have been $500 extra.

I paid $5400 for my LBL in December, and that included everything, anesthesia, and all post op care etc..

Hope this helps those of you who are considering going to CosMed in TJ Mexico.  (which by the way are the top plastic surgery clinic in Mexico...the docs were all trained in the USA for their residency and fellowships).

Hey Deb! I am glad you are doing so well!    I had my breast surgery on 5/22 and am now off the pain med.  Back at work full time.... but I tell you.... I miss those pain pills.     I still have my stitches in until 6/14.   I did not have any implants and had quite a bit of skin removed.   I did not have a traditional anchor or crescent incision....but rather a combination my surgeon told me.   My steri strips are still on, and the surgeon said to wait until they fall off.   I am a little bit nervous about that part, as they are stinging now.   I guess I am a bit of a baby!  lol.   i dont think I could go through what you have been through.    One day I would LOVE to get my eyelids (lower) done, but jeeeeesh.... I would have to be put under for about 2 months.... lol.   Thanks for sharing all your photos, it is very good of you. hugs, J.

Yeah, I feel like a druggie sometimes!!  I was on the dilaudid after the LBL for 3months!!!  Then I got off of it, with some symptoms and had to go back on when my bile duct started giving me trouble.  So, then I had surgery and I am back on it again!! My doc says not to worry, if I have symptoms again, she can help me with that, as cancer patients and people who have accidents go through symptoms too.  I really hurt if I don't take them...in my boobs, but I am only 5 days post op. I am hoping to feel good by the time school starts on June 18th.  How long did it take your swelling to go down in your boobs, and for them to drop?? I am hoping they will go down soon! Thanks for the reply, and feel better soon!  I am going to get a partial forehead lift, so I won't need botox when I do my arm lift way down the road, probably in 1.5 years.  He said that would take care of  the eyelid problem. good morning Deb, I dont know if they will change much from how they are now?   I asked my dr. and she could not really answer me.   She said "time will tell...." and then I asked her about the swelling/size and she said the same answer about "time"  so  i was a little frustrated, but I know i need to work on patience.   I guess I just have to wear these sports bras 24/7 for a while.   The yellow bruising is fading I am glad to say.    Tylenol is just NOT helping that much but I know it could be much much worse!    My legs are my big area that I do not like but the dr. said they do not warrant surgery... although she does recommed a vascular surgeon.    onward and upward....  :)   wish i could meet you when I come to SC in 2 weeks to check things out!! GASP!!!  is what I thought when I read your post!!  OH MY!!! I cannot believe she said time will tell!!!  Holy Moly!!!  My legs are big too, not terribly big, but my big area.  I am not sure about a vascular surgeon...why??  For a thigh lift?? Email Dr Fuentes and ask him.....you will get a totally different answer and response I am sure! We cannot take advil/motrin/ibuprofen, but you can take celebrex for short time periods, but my doc said it was not worth it, so I take 2mg of dilaudid.  It is wonderful, and if you take it wtih Phenergan, it will make a huge difference in how you feel, and Dilaudid is safer for WLS patients. Do take something you need it still, don't stay in pain!! God Bless, Deb

Hi Deb, Well, she said that when I was on the OR table I didnt look as big as when I went back for the first visit post op..... and they still look like a c-cup, in fact I can still fit into some of my old bras... but maybe I had shrunk them a little?  I dont know, or maybe I am still swollen?  It is frustrating.  I am taking tylenol now, but I am pretty sore.    I was taking percocet (or something like that generic) last week, but not any more.   It really messed up my digestive system.   but yeah, I am pretty sore.  I dont know if I should still be this sore/stinging at 2 weeks out, or just 'suck it up?'   lol I did take celebrex when I was first out for my periods, but stopped when I ran out and never got that refilled.  I dont think it really helped.   I have an appt a week from tomorrow.   I have to say I do feel a little bit better today then I did last night   so I am going to see how I get through the morning.  I have a dental appointment today too.   oy.   It took being HIGH for me to make that appointment... (the day I was released from the hospital!!)  LOL!  seriously!!   i haaaate the dentist and its in my ex's town.... but since i am moving to sc i didnt want to find a new dentist.   lord help me! thanks for the thoughtful reply though, deb..... xoxo to you!!   (those were gentle hugs....  !!) :)   lets stay in touch with our progress
