A WOW moment!

I just had to share this...it has finally become fun to go shopping again!  I had to get a dress for this black-tie event for work so I ran into JCPenney to see what they had...thirty minutes later I'm walking out with a very nice dress, new earrings and I had looked at the shoes too!   It felt SOOOOO good to be able to just go in and power shop...buy off the rack without having to stress out over the lack of selection and and pay a fortune for the plus size formal wear!   Melanie

How wonderful Melanie. It is so nice to go to the regular clothes now, after years of buying FAT ASS (as I always called them) clothes, isn't it?  Not to mention how terrific you must look in that new dress. I can't seem to get my radar off the plus size department. I went to walmart and was looking on the sales racks for over 30 minutes before I realized I was still looking at my old size clothes. I did  end up looking in the normal sizes and I did buy three sweaters that were marked down to $3.00 each in a size 8/10. Sonny had to make me buy them because I still don't think I will ever get that small and definetly not by winter time, but he said I shouldn't turn down the deal because I'm worried I won't ever fit in them. Sooooooooooo who knows, maybe one day it will be a WOW moment for me too when I reach that size. I'm so proud of you and how great you have done over the past 7 months. You look absolutely incredible and so small now, I'm green with envy! Love Ya! Mary

Hi Melanie....I am sort of new to the board ...lurker finally brave enough to post!!   You are doing great.  I have no clothes left and I need to go shopping but when I go I find it difficult.  I still can not get used to smaller sizes.  Si end up coming home with nothing or little.  Anyway, keep up the great work. Glad you got brave enough to post.  We really really don't bite.  I know just what you mean about sizes.  I wore my old 22's until they were literally falling off of me.  I see that you are from Walterboro.  I'm in Goose Creek but my Dad was born in Walterboro.  He still has the house he grew up in.  I'm trying to get up my nerve to ride his horses, that was one of my goals from when I weighed 285.  I have found a great thrift shop in Charleston, we call it the Treasure Chest.  You'll have to meet some of us there sometimes.   Hope to see lots more of your posts Mary
