woman to woman question...ladies only

Ok, here comes one of those questions that you just have to ask... The last couple of weeks, I have been plagued with YEAST INFECTIONS.  I think I have gotten rid of one, only to get another one in a few days (usually a day or so after DH and I are intimate).   I am on the pill and have been since surgery.  I have not had trouble with this until now.  Do you think the pill could be too strong for me now and that is why I'm getting more yeast infections or am I just allergic to DH???  Just wondering if anyone noticed more yeast infections after surgery and weight loss. Hey, I haven't had problems with them since surgery but have had them in the past.  I'm sure you know all the things the Dr will tell you.  Make sure DH is clean and all that stuff.  My problem started when my DH became diabetic.  My ob/gyn put me on that 1 time pill (can't remember the name) but I had to take it for like 5 days.  And as for as yeast infection go drink cranberry juice and eat yogurt.  I also found some cranberry pills at GNC.  Old wives tell is alka selter works good too.  When I start to feel one come on, I drink an alka selter and it goes away, LOL.  Who would have thought.

You know...hubby could have your yeast infections and once you are cleared,  be re-infecting you. I had a friend who was having the same problem whose BF had to get treated too.  Just a thought... Might want to make him go to the doc with you.

Your right Kathy.. your hubby needs to go get jock itch cream / Athletes foot cream

& you both get medicated at the same time your just passing it back & forth.. I learned the hard way.. Been there done that..

I thought about this too.  I think I might make him slap some cream on Mr. Fun while I am treating mine.  We can see if that will help.  My doctor is out of the office until next week but I had a refill on the diflucan that he gave me last time so I went ahead and took it yesterday.  So maybe that along with the over the counter stuff will help.  I didn't realize so many things could cause yeast infections....they are freaking too easy to get and hard to get rid of. Rachel-
You are not alone, yes I have had more yeast infections since weight loss. First are you self treating or going on something prescribed by your doctor? Also, have you been on antibiotics recently.

Second, make sure hubby is treated as well he could be the source.

Third, if you are thinking of plastic surgery make sure your MD is docoumenting your yeast infections, reoccuring yeast infections are a reason that insurance companies will pay.

Forth, make sure you are wearing cotton panties and no bubble baths.

The pill will have nothing to do with yeast infections, so dont worry about it. It can not cause yeast infections.

I know this is going to sound REALLY REALLY strange.. but my GYN suggested this.. and I have always done it when I thought I was getting one.. the "virus" can live in your underwear.. even if washing them in ho****er.. so here's what she told me to do.. 1. Always wear cotton crotched panties 2. Wash your panties in ho****er with bleach and the strangest one... 3. Put your panties in the microwave when you take them out of the washing machine.... it kills the virus.. only for a few seconds.. until they get hot to touch.. while still wet of course.. then throw them in the dryer.. something about the microwave kills the infection..

OK OK I know its a womens only thing going on here but.. I do the same thing Stephanie said about the microwave--I do it with our kitchen sponges. I put them in the dishwasher once a week, and then into the microwave (wet of course) and zap them for about 45 seconds----its suppose to kill 99.8% of all the "hidden" bacteria that lingers

So nuke those underwears...strange but true..........kinda like Stephanie............hehehehe
