Dr. Byrne/ Hernia Repair

Hi :wave:  After loosing 264 lbs., I have decided to start looking into plastic surgery and hernia repair.  I had my surgery in nc but want Dr. Byrne to take over my post op care here in sc. I have state medicaid. Does anyone know if he would or any surgeon do that or do I have to have post op care with the surgeon that did the surgery? I just learned that my surgeon and the plastic surgeon do the surgery together. one does the panni removal and dr. byrne would do the hernia repair? I'm just starting to look into this so I really don't know too much. I just got a job at MUSC working on the 6th floor so I will be working with him a lot. Anybody having surgery soon, I'm sure I'll see you too! I have heard nothing but good things about him so thats why I'm wondering about him. Also if anyone can recommend a good Plastic surgeon, let me know that too!   Thanks

Your weight loss is amazing Kay.  I would call Dr. B's office and ask his nurse if he would consider taking you on.... or if you see him on 6 you might ask yourself. Susann

you've done amazing sweetie... as for Dr. Byrne I don't know but I would suggest if you can to get them both at the same time from all the emails I've gotten... I will have to wait till next year at this time before I can get the panni done but after this surgery, I don't see me doing it... this HURTS alot worse than the WLS it's self...

You have done great. Dr. Byrne is wonderful!!!!!!!!!  I am sure if he can't do it, he will refer you to someone that can. I look at all the weight loss you have accomplished, and that makes me believe there is hope for me that the scales will one day move again. YOU ROCK GIRL!!!!!!!!
