I'm Home and OMG !!!!!!!

Speaking from experience, staples are always worse than sutures. I'm not sure who completed your surgery, but generally a good plastic surgeon will steer clear of staples. I've had 7 rounds of plastic surgery post-RNY with my 8th scheduled for October. They have all been relatively easy to recover from and I've been back to work at the most 2 weeks later. Not to say there wasn't some pain and discomfort, just not the excruiating kind.
My arms were the absolute worst plastic procedure I had. It wasn't from pain, but the constant ache and swelling that stuck around for a few weeks. I couldn't take Advil which would have knocked out the pain ASAP. Swore I'd never have anything else done to them. But I guess it's like what they say about having a baby...... you tend to forget the few weeks of pain and discomfort over time. I've had touch ups on both of my arms since then. Hang in there; it gets better....especially once you get the darn drains out.
hey sweetie...
this was just to fix the hernia, not plastic surgery... I have to go back where he will come back up to my rib cage again and go down and across to remove all the excess skin... then I will have sutures, the hernia was so big and bad they couldn't wait any longer... I had gotten the point having and NO BM's and they were scared I would set up infection and loose part of my bowel... my belly button is not in it's place so that will have to be replaced since it's down next to my groin now... but hey as long as the hernia is gone, I'm able to go poop now... I'm happy *lol* I'm a whimp when it comes to having pain... that's why I only had 1 child... *lol* love Stephie
