this surgery was way way way worse than the RNY that I had... I'm cut from ribs down to my nu-nu... with all that stapled back up and I have a drain on each side of the incesion.... but I do have a nice flat belly now... I still have the panni hanging over, he said I'd have to get that done next year cause I'm only 10 mos out right now... but guess what... *whispers* I'm don't think I'll have that one... this is hard enough... thanks for the prayers and well wishes... *hugs and love to you all* Stephie

What did you have done again?  I hear the worst part is the plastics after the RNY.   I didn't think we could have plastics until after 18 months.  How did you find a doctor to do yours after only 10 months.  You must already be at goal. I'll be praying for you. Rachel

yeah I had to have the hernia fixed... I don't think I can handle the plastics so not going to worry about those... anyway I gotta go lay down I feel like I'm gonna fall out..

*hugs*

Glad you are home and doing well Stephanie.  Sorry they couldn't take care of the panni at the same time...that would have been so much easier. Rest and take care of yourself. Susann

Speaking from experience, staples are always worse than sutures. I'm not sure who completed your surgery, but generally a good plastic surgeon will steer clear of staples. I've had 7 rounds of plastic surgery post-RNY with my 8th scheduled for October. They have all been relatively easy to recover from and I've been back to work at the most 2 weeks later. Not to say there wasn't some pain and discomfort, just not the excruiating kind.

My arms were the absolute worst plastic procedure I had. It wasn't from pain, but the constant ache and swelling that stuck around for a few weeks. I couldn't take Advil which would have knocked out the pain ASAP. Swore I'd never have anything else done to them. But I guess it's like what they say about having a baby...... you tend to forget the few weeks of pain and discomfort over time. I've had touch ups on both of my arms since then. Hang in there; it gets better....especially once you get the darn drains out.

hey sweetie...

this was just to fix the hernia, not plastic surgery... I have to go back where he will come back up to my rib cage again and go down and across to remove all the excess skin... then I will have sutures, the hernia was so big and bad they couldn't wait any longer... I had gotten the point  having and NO BM's and they were scared I would set up infection and loose part of my bowel... my belly button is not in it's place so that will have to be replaced since it's down next to my groin now... but hey as long as the hernia is gone, I'm able to go poop now... I'm happy *lol*  I'm a whimp when it comes to having pain... that's why I only had 1 child... *lol* love Stephie
