Good morning!!  I wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Bour did confirm that Joel's drain is doing its job, infection is draining...thank God!!  He is still NPO and Dr Bour said MAYBE today sometime he can start 1oz of a colored liquid an hour...as of now that hasn't been implemented.  He has been fever free for 24 hours, but still in pain.  No sign of when we are going home...hopefully soon!!  Have a great day... ~ Deidre

yall are still in our prayers!!! I pray for Joels sanity that he will get some liquid by mouth today! I know he is probably climbing the walls.. (I couldnt even survive a few hours after surgery without breaking the no washcloth rule i could only imagine going through what he is! ) Thanks for keeping us updated!

Hey D&J- Think good thoughts! Joel is making progress now that the drain is doing it's job... the liquids are on the way and home will never again be so sweet!  Tell Joel (and yourself) to hang in there! Lots of folks are praying and cheering him on.... Donna Jo

Yes, you both are in my thoughts today ...  (If I NEVER hear the words, "The drain is doing it's job" again, it'll be fine with me.  LOL  I was begging Dr. Bour to take that darn thing out before all was said and done.) I hope that the blessed blue water will be part of Joel's day, sooner rather than later, today.  And I continue to send you both my love and encouragement.  Hang in there!

Yes,  those were sweet words to hear this morning!  We are SOOOOO ready to be at home-especially Joel...I will be sure and let him know that you are asking, praying and send encouragment!!!   Thanks again for being so caring and sweet!  I asked for a surgery angel, and God gave me ALL of you...

I hope things continue to improve over the next few days and he will be home soon.

Give yourself credit, being there is much more important to being a nurse. That is what is giving him his strength.
