Joel update

Joel still has had nothing by mouth and is not very happy. Dr. Bour came in at 5 am ish today and told him to get up, walk around and that this was not a pity party. We know how Dr. Bour and his bedside manners are.  They are hoping the leak heals on it's own so no surgery??? Not too sure yet what the deal is with that, Dr. B woke them up this am and they were kinda stunned and did not get a chance to ask any questions. Patti

I just called and spoke briefly to Deidre.  She's asking for continued prayers for Joel. I was going to try to get over there  to give them some encouragment today ... but of course, the day exploded for me and I haven't had a chance.   But that's the way Dr. Bour handled my leak ... nothing by mouth.  Apparently, most leaks will go ahead and heal on their own this way.  I know it's rough though.  Hopefully, it'll heal quickly and he can get back on the road to healthy very soon now. Thanks for the update, Patti.  You're such a good friend.

i hate theyre going through this... hope it resolves soon i cant imagine that long npo!! id be insane... im going to try to go visit them. jen
