That's why I did it
Saturday, my boys and I hiked up Looking Glass Rock in Pisgah National Forest, near Brevard NC. It was fantastic! The trail is 3.1 miles each way with approx 1800 ft elevation change. A year ago I would not have attempted that climb. I've been there many times. My dad took me there as a kid and I wanted to take my boys there, but was not going to do it when I was 360lbs. The last time I did the hike was 12 yrs ago, I was 320lbs and it almost killed me. Last Saturday I walked up that mountain like I was taking a stroll in the park. My boys had great time and I'm sure they will remember it for a lifetime. That's why I had the surgery.

Eddie - the pictures are great! I am soooo very happy for you. I pray I won't be far behind you - I have a fantastic home on Johns Island with land & I can't even walk to the pond without hurting. I have three fantastic grandsons in Texas and I want to be able to share the beauty of South Carolina with them. Thank-you for sharing your success story with us - maybe we can be 'friends'...
Wow Eddie. I am so happy for you. So glad you get to enjoy life with your boys, that is so important. I am so excited for me too. I am going to the mountains, Lake Lure, this Friday for a week and look forward to doing things I have not been able to do in years also. What a great feeling. I can't wait. LIFE IS GOOD!!
