Dr. Bour's meeting

whats wrong with your ass?!?! Mine hurts like a mofo.. i go to charlotte june 5th to let a spine surgeon who will actually operate on tailbones look at it.. CRAZY there are NO Doctors in the upstate who operate on tailbones. Mines broke.. FIX IT JERKS! Hope your butt is okay! jen

Sorry your tailbone is still causing you pain ... hopefully the Doc in Charlotte will be able to fix it, once and for all. Then you can drive me back to the beach one day, pain-free! Dr. Kathy helped me self-diagnose ... I think I have a "lipoma", which is another word for "fatty tumor" (ew!). But of course, I had to Google things up, and now I'm semi-convinced I have Malignant Liposarcoma. Becuase that's the way my brain works. "Bottom" Line (I pun): I have a hard mass in my lower hip, upper ass area, shaped like a sperm (round on one end, with a tail), and it's about 3 inches from one end to the other. My PCP wants me to see a surgeon. And I figure seeing Dr. Bour will eliminate having to explain to another surgeon why my ass has so much extra skin hanging around. (I kid, I know Dr. Bour will take the best care of me.) I miss you.

Well if it makes you feel ANY better.. when I was pregnant with kassidy, we found "masses" on my back around my spine near bra area.. They told me it felt like tumors .. I had to go 6 more months of being pregnant googling every term about it on the computer freaking myself out more.. When I had kassidy I got an MRI and it turned out to be lipomas, which is tumors but are just "fatty" tumors that arent cancerous.. I ended up having a hematoma in my spine also but they cant do anything for it. So yeah I was convinced I had a Malignant sarcoma too! But i didnt.. and I pray you dont either!!! Keep me updated!!! I miss you (p.s. now im convinced i have something else wrong with my tailbone too LOL.. it has gotten ALOT worse lately and you can feel something extra-curricular down there.. ) love ya! jen

Butt masses must be going around! I found a lump on my back, near my spine, around my waistline. It feels like a marble in there. I can move it around and it doesn't hurt. One of the RN's I work with said the same thing as Dr. Kathy...fatty tumor. But in the field I work in (hospice) I started freaking out just a little bit. She told me not to worry too much about it...just keep an eye on it and show it to my MD at my next appointment. Keep me posted on what Dr B says and what he's going to do about it. I hate the thought of getting cut on again (unless it's plastic surgery!). Melanie

Just to let you know ... I talked to Katie late yesterday afternoon.  She said they see this a LOT, with those of us who are losing weight.  Most likely, the lumps have been there for years, and we only find them as the weight comes off.  Same as finding all those bones we didn't know we had!

She said if the lump was in the breast, or near a lymph node, they would normally have a sense of urgency about looking at it ... but since mine isn't, she said it can wait until my next scheduled visit with Dr. Bour in the first part of July.  She also added that if it was going to freak me out and worry me, they would see me sooner.   Since I have a busy month coming up with my Mom havng her knee replaced, I'm going to forget about it until July.  I'll let you know if there are any changes ... and you do, too!

Hmmm...why would be be protesting. You know with my graduation last week I missed everything. I plan on being there and I am bringing someone 3 weeks out from surgery that has had a hard time...see you there. SInce with have company with me not sure if Chick fil a will be a good influence on her and might skip the UPS meeting. Laurie
