New to the area and new to this site.
Hi! My name is Sariah I am 26 years old. I have just begun my WLS journey and I have so many questions. So please bear with me! Congratulations to all of you on the losing side, and good luck to all of us who are waiting to join you.
My first question- What happens from the time you get approved to the day of surgery?
next question- Anyone with Tricare Prime have any tips for me?
Thanks!
Hi Sariah! Congrats on getting approved for surgery! I would suggest that you get to as many support group meetings as you can, first off. You will meet so many wonderful people and its a great way to build your support network. I am from the Boston area, but planning a relocation in the next few months. I will be making a trip to Charleston next month and will be at the 6/21 meeting if you are in that area.
I had WLS 2+ years ago and am now going for PS. I wish you happiness and friendship. I think its important to learn as much as you can from this group and to keep an open mind. Their is a lot of strength and wisdom on these boards.
hugs,
J.
So nice to see you. I live in Goose Creek also. I didn't have Tricare, but know several ladies who had their surgery with Dr. B and had no problems. Hope to see you on the board. The charleston ladies have an informal support group that meets on Thursday nights at 6 oclock at the Pizza Inn on Rivers. They are a great group of people, I wish I could see them more!!!

Hi Sariah
and Welcome to the board. I do not know the answer to your second question but the answer to your first is a roller coaster of emotions and questions. Please feel free to ask anything, no matter how stupid you think it is. We are here to help. Also you should try to come to an LCBB meeting, I am sure someone has already mentioned that one.
Again, Welcome!
Julie

High and welcome to the area.
We have a wonderful group of people in this are that are very supportive. We meet every Thursday night at 6pm.
When I started my journey, I started going to group meetings in Nov and had my surgery in Feb. That was the greatest thing, getting to learn everything and everybody and bonding with so many people that have truely become friends.
These meetings ARE NOT MANDITORY. But they are informative and fun.
We hope you can join us.
Deb
