New to SC, New to Site

I am looking for information, friends, support meetings, etc. I have been in SC for 8 months and am getting my ducks in order to have surgery. I would appreciate a friend, or two or three, that could help me and give me some support. I've really dealt with this alot and have finally made a decision. Also, I am looking for a PCP that BELIEVES in bariatric surgery and will support me. So far, the one I am going to now in Greenville does not want that as an option. Hope to hear from someone soon!

Hi, We have a group of us that get together on Monday nights in Greenville there are a good many of us and we have a fun time together. Hi Anna Welcome to the board! HAve you decided on a surgeon? All of the surgeons in the upstate have info seminars that you can attend. Like Marcey said there is a group of us that get together on Mondays and meet. We give tons of support!!! If you have any questions, just ask away. We will all help you in any way we can!!! Melissa

Hi, I am just 3 weeks post op and would be glad to have a new friend. My pcp dr is at Hollytree Family practice. I see Dr. Berglind and he was the one that suggested I have it done. I had my surgery with Dr. Bour at Bariatric Solutions. God bless Tammy P.

Hi Anna, I am from Boston, but i am always on this SC State Board ,because my intent is to relocate to the Charleston area sometime in the next _______ months. lol. I dont know basiclaly? Taking it as it comes. But seriously... they are the best group of guys/gals you could find on this support group. OH has other sections, but this state is the BEST. I will be visitng in June and then again in maybe September? and again for the holidays if I can or if I am not living there by then. hugs and welcome aboard!!! J.

Welcome Anna. It's always great to have new people join us on here. You live fairly close to some of us, so it will be nice to get to meet you and hopefully become friends. Any questions you have just fire away and you should get them answered by someone here. I would recommend my PCP, but he wasn't exactly for me having the surgery either, I just went and had it done without his permission, lol. Hope it all works out for you. Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. I am definetly going to make a support group meeting and I have scheduled a couple of seminars to attend here. I did a entry on my homepage so I guess that today has begun this journey for me. I feel excited!
