SC truly is a WONDERFUL state and Charleston is wonderful wonderful WONDERFUL I am such a "planner" and I know I get so 'ansy' about planning and such, but its because I hate to miss out on anything!! It says that a 'local' can get tickets for 10 dollars on the website here. but 14 isnt bad either. I am soooooo glad I have a room in the city now, so I can walk to everything! (even if it is a little under 2 miles... lol oh well, I will have to walk off all the bad food I plan on eating... because doncha know I have to try GRITS.... lol Just a little more than 2 weeks till my surgery and 45 days till I arrive in SC! xoxo

YEAH, THIS WOULD BE A TAD BIT AWAY FOR YOU TO WALK ... IF NICK & I GO, WE'D BE HAPPY TO PICK YOU UP ... ALL DEPENDS ON HIS WORK SCHEDULE, BUT HE'LL TRY TO GET IT OFF. WE'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED. WE'D HAVE TO GO ON THAT SATURDAY, NOT FRIDAY ... UNLESS WE COULD GO FRIDAY EVENING AFTER WORK ... HMMM, THAT MIGHT BE COOLER, WEATHER WISE. IT'S A THOUGHT IF THE CONCERTS CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING/NIGHT. I'M CALLING THEM ON MONDAY TO SEE WHERE I CAN GET THE DISCOUNT COUPONS ... I ASSUME YOU GET THE TICKETS AT THE GATE. I'LL ALSO ASK ABOUT FRIDAY NIGHT TO MAKE SURE THEY WILL HAVE BANDS LATER THAT EVENING. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Hi Dawn! thanks so much. This is so very kind of you! Southern Hospitality!! I actually found a great link on the above website that shows some public transporation, so if I go or you go on fri and/or sat I can catch that from my hotel, or nearby... that way I can hook up with you and Nick and whoever else might attend at the event and then you can leave whenever you are ready. I decided not to rent a car, but I certainly dont want to put anyone out and make them have to drive into the city to get me. We can just call each other when we get there and arrange a meeting spot and hang at the event. This sounds like a blast!! I cant wait!! Today it was in the 40s here, so I cant wait for some hot weather!! (hmm, will I 'eat those words?')

IF YOU DO RENT A CAR, TRY ENTERPRISE ... THEY WILL ACTUALLY COME GET YOU & DRIVE YOU TO THE OFFICE TO GET THE CAR. WHEN YOU GET HERE ... WE'LL GET IN TOUCH & WORK SOMETHING OUT AS FAR AS MEETING OR PICKING YOU UP, THAT'S FOR SURE! DON'T FORGET, WE HAVE AMAZING LCBBuddies THAT YOU JUST HAVE TO MEET! YEAH, THE WEATHER IN SUMMER CAN WILT YOU, FOR SURE! IF YOU'RE NOT USED TO HUMID, STEAMY, HOT SUMMERS, YOU MUST BE CAREFUL TO STAY HYDRATED & TAKE THE HEAT IN SHORT INTERVALS. THAT'S WHY I MENTIONED GOING TO THE BG FESTIVAL IN THE EVENING IF THEY HAVE BANDS PLAYING LATER. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk PS: NICK & I ARE BOTH TRANSPLANTED NORTHERNERS ... MI & PA

Thanks, Dawn! I will keep that in mind for future visits. I will just be a few weeks out from having surgery and have been advised not to drive. Which for me, is FINE because I am coming to a new place by myself and it a bit unnerving not having a 'co-pilot' and not having a clue where I am, and just a few weeks off the OR table!! yikes! But I am very independant if need be, and this is why I booked a hotel room. So, far I have 4 out of 5 nights booked. This is truly exciting. I swear, I could stay right in Charleston and never need a car, it looks like there is SO MUCH to do!!! So many art galleries and restaurants and places to wander. I can not wait. A glass of wine, a ride on a buggy... some grits and cheese, and I will be so happy. Are there a lot of smokers in Charleston? Massachusetts went Non Smoking a few years back, actually it was right around the time I was forced to quit. hugs...
