Dont know what I did wrong??
Hey everyone I had a problem at supper time tonight. I'm 6 weeks out. I made 7 bean soup, corn bread, cabbage with sauage for my family. I mashed up a little beans nothing else, sit down took one bite. Got a awful pain in my chest and stomach! I sit there a few minutes I thought it would stop in a minute. It got worst. Then my mouth started to water! I went to the bathroom, sounds gross, but something like foamy spit came up then the bite of beans, then more of the other stuff! This was something new for me! Had not happened to me before! It went back sit down for a few mintues. I decided to put some more bean juice on them and make them more runny. I sit down and eat them, they did'nt come back up. Does anyone know what I did wrong? And what the heck is that stuff? Thanks, for any help and info on this. Lucinda
Hey, I am just a few weeks out and have not had this happen to me. I have been on the main board alot and have seen where other people post about that. One lady said it looked like mucus. From the way people responded this is kind of normal. Go to the main board and ask. That board has more people on it. I hope this help and Good Luck, Tammy P.
Sometimes beans and things like rice, and other foods that will expand when they absorb water will swell. You probably ate too much at one bite, and not enough liquid, so it clogged you up.
That is normal, no biggie, but you know what else to look for now.
When my pouch gets too full at one time, I get the foamies. Carbonated beverages do the same thing.
Stay away from the cornbread, and stick to low carb foods, and when you eat things like beans ( I used to go to Taco Bell and order plain beans, and a small cup of just plain meat...ground beef, and a small side of just grated cheese and mixed in the bowl with the beans and added warm water to make it like a slurry).
Try that, it will help and sometimes if you eat dry chicken breast or meat, steak or turkey, it can happen. Remember, baby baby bites.
You are fine, its normal!!

Yep, you got a bad case of the foamies (I refer to it as a dump). It can happen when something gets stuck, you eat too much or too fast, or you try something that your pouch does not like. It happens to lots of people with lots of different foods and drinks. You are so brave though, after I got the foamies I swore I would never eat that food again! It happened to me with rice, I tried to mu**** up real good and put some butter on it to make it soft. That pain and the uncontrollable foaming at the mouth was more than I could bear to put myself through again. Listen to your body and let it help guide you through this weight loss process. You are a different person inside now and some things are going to change regarding what you can and can't eat. Even if you were able to eat it for years, you may not be able to eat it anymore. Glad you're ok though.

Well, just like everyone else said, the food hung up and wasn't going down. I have it happen when I am getting close to eating more than I should, for example when we eat out and I can't measure how much I am eating. It's my pouch saying "hey you better stop or I'm going to make your life miserable". Yes many times I have had to puke it all back up and that's where the foamy stuff comes in. I think its just everything getting irritated and making mucus to help your esophagus work the food down. I use to get the foam bad when I had acid reflux in the middle of the night and I would actually asparate some food into my lungs, not only could I not breath, but the foam would come up and make it even worse trying to get my breath again. Unfortunetly it's not fun and it will do it without warning even when I think I have chewed my food good or don't really think I have eaten close to what I normally would. It's kind of a trial and error thing and you might eat the beans again and never have a problem with it, or suddenly eat something you have had a hundred times and it does it. Hope you have better luck next time you decide to try them, I know, I tend to shy away from foods that have caused it in the past.
Take care!
Mary
Hey Lucinda,
Ive had that happen a few times YUK it is the worse. The first time it ever happened I had my first piece of chicken and boy did I get sick. I just had all that foaming coming up till I finally
it all up, but it took awhile to get it all out. The pain I had in my chest was horrible This took 2 hours before the pain and foaming finally stopped, It felt like I was having a heart attack
I have had the foamy stuff after that but it wasnt as bad as the first time I had it.
Just have to watch what you eat and not over do it. Of course we all have to learn what and how much we should eat. Good Luck to you and God Bless
Denise
