Why, oh Why????

Why oh why do I continue to eat when I am full. Why do I spend my day grazing like I did today. I have just been out of control. I'm so scared. The first 6 months were wonderful and now I'm starting to see why this isn't easy. The scale hasn't moved in weeks and today I had cake (a small piece) and some very sugary punch. NOOOOOO dumping at all! I felt like all I did was eat today. Here is what I had sadly...I feel like I need to confess to you guys... Breakfast - pack of crackers on the way to interview Snack - protein bar Lunch - grilled chicken strips (2) and fries (a good many) then 30 minutes later a small piece of cake - about the size of a deck of cards Snack - fruit and punch (1:00pm) Snack - protein bar (3:30pm) Pack of Crackers (5:30pm) Dinner - Country Fried Steak and Rice and Gravy OH MY GOSH!!! Did I really eat that much????? What is happening to my self control???? I'm so scared. Is this all I am gonna lose....will I start gaining now....anyone that has been where I am no, how did you move on???? Help Rachel

Girl, I felt a thousand times over the past 18 months like you do now. Today, I did not eat much, but I had tremendous guilt over it. I got my cholesterol results today. Breakfast Starbucks Grande' SF Vanilla, NonFat Latte Late Lunch...3pm, salad with grilled chix...couldn't eat much of it Late Lunch...3pm middle eastern piece of flatbread...organic, low calorie with some organic roasted humus....yummy!!!!! late dinner 7pmish... (I ordered pizza for my son) I had about 1/2 a small bowl of instant organic oatmeal...sugar free...to help with my cholesterol 9pm-ish I had 3 bites of a plain cheese pizza, no crust, not much, just a taste Fresh Raspberries with some SF tapioca pudding and a few squirts of fat free whipped cream on top with Splenda Midnight (studying for a math test for Nursing school admissions test) a few soy crisp chips for protein Lots of Propel That is it... Anyway, I felt sooo guilty which is ridiculous, because I didn't and you did not over eat. I am cancelling my nuts (trail mix snacks) that I make myself, because of my cholesterol....so I am replacing with fresh fruits...I also had a banana earlier 2am Heading to bed now, trying to drink a lot more propel before bed, to get in more fluids because I felt like I had a kidney stone this past week You are good, I know you are stressed, me too, so don't pick back up bad habits. Try to crunch on a handful of almonds or celery or carrots with fat free dressing. Love ya chickie!! Deb

Plan plan and then plan some more. This is your new life and you need to make the choices that are healthy for you and your new pouch. Go back to what you knew in the beginning...not to eat sugar or fried foods...stick with healthy protein first then add vegies and fruits and stay away from white carbs. You know the drill...go back to it and you will do fine and see the weight come off. I know that before when it was cold I would drink hot apply crystal light (Walmart brand) and now that it is warmer I fix myself filtered water from fridge and Davinci flavored syrup in water bottles or 20 oz glasses and drink lots of water now..I even started losing again this week. I lost 3lbs so far this week. You can do this I know you can.... Joan M

OH MS JONI, I'M SO GLAD TO READ THAT YOU LOST MORE WEIGHT (not that you need to, Ms Skinny!) ... I HAVE NOT DROPPED EVEN A POUND SINCE STARTING MY EXERCISING AT THE GYM (Nick has lost 4 #s in 3 weeks), BUT MY TRAINER IS WORKING ME TO GAIN MUSCLE AS I'M VERY UNDER-MUSCLED & SHE'S WORKING NICK'S PROGRAM TO GET HIM TO LOSE WEIGHT AS HE HAS A GOOD MUSCLE FOUNDATION BUT HAS THAT MALE TUMMY THAT OVERSHADOWS THE BELT. I'VE NOTICED 2 THINGS ... MY MUSCLES ARE HOLDING WATER WEIGHT - MY HANDS, FEET & FACE ARE SWOLLEN THE DAY AFTER A MAJOR WORKOUT ... &, I'M DROP-DEAD EXHAUSTED AFTER A WORKOUT WHICH MAKES ME THINK OUR LOW CALORIE/PROTEIN INTAKE MAY BE LEAVING ME WITH NOTHING EXTRA TO USE DURING MY WORKOUT. WE HAVE REALLY BEEN PUSHING OURSELVES HARD DURING OUR WORKOUTS ... MY LOW WAS 168 & I WAS AT 170 THE DAY WE STARTED AT THE GYM 3 WEEKS AGO. THIS MORNING I HIT 174 & DARN-NEAR CRIED, BUT AN HOUR LATER, I WAS DOWN TO 173; ALL FLUID. I DON'T CHEAT, FOOD WISE OR CALORIE WISE ... IT'S GOT TO BE THE FLUID/PROTEIN ISSUE, I'M THINKING. I THINK I NEED MORE OF BOTH. I'M GONNA EM MY TRAINER. ANY SUGGESTIONS? GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
