Helloooooooo. I am looking around and trying to figure out plans for next month. I get a little anxious about nailing down plans and was wondering about a few things. 1) Is it easy to get from Mt. Pleasant over to Charleston on foot? 2) Is there much to do in Mt. Pleasant? 3) Has anyone ever heard of the Masters Inn - Charleston - address is 300 Wingo Way Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 They have some very reasonable rates, but may not last so I want to book asap. If you know of another place in that vicinity, but The closer I am to the downtown area the happier I will be and of course price is a factor for this single girl with no $$$ lol thanks... J.

Hi! I stayed on Wingo Way in the Sleep Inn once ... it wasn't too bad for the price. Definitely not within walking distance of historic Charleston though. That area of Mt. Pleasant IS very close to Charleston (as long as you have a car) and is a safe area. My daughter has stayed in the Holiday Inn on Calhoun Street, and says it was very nice, and is right in the middle of downtown Charleston. She said the concierge there was "amazing" ... full of good tips and suggestions on places to visit and things to see. Also, she's stayed at the Francis Marion Inn on King Street. Again, right in the middle of everything. My daughter wants you to know about a wonderful seafood place in Mt. Pleasant called "The Wreck" ... if you want to go, you'll have to ask for directions (let me know, and I'll send them to you) since there are no signs, and is not "touristy" at all. Paper plates, no credit cards ... but incredible southern seafood. Go to Orbitz.com or Expedia.com and check for low prices for the times you'll be there. Check out Priceline.com, too. I love Charleston! Another reason to envy you ... Dawn

Hello to you too... And GOOD MORNING Shelby had me up at 5a flipping her ears. So needless to say, she got them cleaned REALLY WELL at 530a. You can walk, but it is about 5 mile hike over the New Bridge just to get to the outshirts of Downtown. There is not really much to do in Mt. Pleasant. Especially in that area, it is mostly where all the Mt. Pleasant hotels are. If you stayed there, you would need to rent a car. I looked on Travelocity and the cheapest hotel I found downtown was the Comfort Inn. I am researching another option for you, I will PM you when I find out more. Julie

There are lots of things to do in Mt. Pleasant, but I think if you want to tour down town charleston, you would rather stay down town. I will send you a good list. Mt. Pleasant cost a little more because it is the ritsey side of town. I picked you up a little book yesterday that I need to mail to you, if you would send me your address. As a matter of fact, call me when you can, 843-708-1816. I am not working right now and am free all day long. The bridge is a hood hike if you want the excersize, but I think you would rather drive it. I'll do some homework and when you call me I'll give you some info. Deb
