1 cornbeef brisket ( I cleaned off all the fat pockets to make it very lean ) 1 med head of cabbage 2 onions 4 med. potatoes 1 large can of lowfat cream of mushroom soup par boil brisket for 30 mins chop cabbage slice onions and potatoes line bottom of crockpot with a couple of whole cabbage leaves.. add some of the onions, take the brisket and slice it into portions, add that ... then add the rest of the cabbage, potatoes, onions to the top... take some of the water that you par boiled the brisket in and mix well into the can of mushroom soup and pour over all... place lid on crockpot and set cooking temp to high... cook on high for couple of hours then turn down to slow and cook for the rest of the day... if you're going to be away just start it on slow and let it cook as long as you need since the meat is already half cooked... cooks up really tender meat just basically cooks to little sliterz ( is that a word ) ? enjoy Stephie PS I've not done the nutrition work up of this yet, but in very small portions I'm sure it's not deadly... so this is gonna be my dinner for tonight... I will only eat about a 1/4 of a cup cause its very filling

thanks Robin for the prayers... I'm trying to get back on track I'm gonna eat but weather or not it stays down I don't know... but least some will stay in I guess.. I've started back on my vits and trying to find ways to hide protein mix so I can get some added protein in.. I'm tired of being stuck in the rut ... by the way, You're very pretty sweetie *hugs* Stephie

Aww, thanks hun. I've been trying to find protein shakes I can tolerate too. This is the first time I've had to really drink them and go it alone since I was so sick in the beginning and had the feeding tube that whole month. The one I purchased taste pretty good but you can still taste some of the protein taste. I drown it with orange juice to cover it and only mix a 8oz cup so that I can get it down fast and forget it. I started my vitamins yesterday too. I noticed that my energy level is starting to go down now that I wasn't getting the stuff in through the feeding tube anymore. I feel a little better today but I know I have to work on this doing everything right thing. My hair is falling out terribly!!! If I can do anything to help, let me know. I'm just glad you're eating something so keep up the good work and I know the stall will break soon. Stay strong and keep your head up hun. Robin

Hey Robin Hope you are feeling stronger. I won't be at LCBB Thursday because I am having out of town guests coming in but if you want to come by, I'll be glad to provide you with a sample of the protein I am using. It's very light and fruit juicy like. I mix it with Diet V-8 Splash Tropical Blend and it goes down real easy ~ I actually look forward to drinking it. My number at work is 747-6461 and my mobile is 991-4778. Dollie

The dietician mentioned about using teh V-8 splash to help mask the taste of the protein too. I'm going to try that with the huge bottle I purchased the other day. What is the name of the protein you are using? Maybe once I've tired of the one I have I can give it a go. I think my problem with the protein is that I was trying to drink it straight with nothing mixed in! I know, I know, I was foolish enough to believe it was actually going to taste good like the bottle said. Now that I know I can mix it with just about anything, I'm doing ok. I mix my protein with OJ for now but I think I'm going to try some crushed pineapples soon, then maybe a mango or something. Thanks so much for offering me a sample and I'm going to miss you Thursday. Enjoy your guests though, I pray the weather is beautiful and you all can enjoy the beach or something wonderful. Talk to you later hun. Robin

Hey Robin! I use Protein Powder from www.allthewhey.com. They are wonderful, and I don't taste it AT ALL. They have a sample pack for $9 that you can try. It has all the flavors in packages, and then they offer free shipping most of the time. Give them a try. The chocolate mouse is wonderful. It tastes like a milk shake when blended with skim milk and ice. Mint Chocolate chip is awsome as well. Keep strong! Terri

IT WOULD BE BETTER TO USE DRINKS LIKE CRYSTAL LITE TO MIX YOUR PROTEIN SHAKES WITH ... FRUIT JUICES, ALTHOUGH NATURAL, ARE SIMPLY SUGAR WATER WITH NUTRIENTS ... THE RECOMMENDATION IS IF YOU ARE GOING THE FRUIT ROUTE THEN, USE THE REAL FRUIT & SKIP THE JUICE BECAUSE AT LEAST THE REAL FRUIT HAS FIBER. YES, MS DEB SAID THAT AT OUR MEETING AS WELL, BUT SHE THEN STATED THAT JUICES THEMSELVES WERE REALLY HIGH IN SUGAR SO BE CAREFUL ... THEY ARE HIDDEN CALORIES & HIDDEN SUGARS. FRUIT SHOULD BE USED AS A TREAT, NOT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY ... OUR WEIGHT LOSS IS AFFECTED TERRIBLY BY SUGARS & WHITE CARBS THAT TURN TO SUGARS IN OUR BLOOD STREAM. SO, ENJOY FRUIT ... BUT SPARINGLY. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
