I have a few more questions... Right now I'm sensitive to my stomach. I get stomachaches a lot. I am lactose intolerant. Does this change after RNY or will I always be intolerant to milk? If I can't use milk for protein..will I still get enough? Can you use water for these protein supplements? Teresa

have you tried the soy milks? I know a few people that drink that instead of milk and get lot more protein than with regular milk.. there is alot of protein mixes that can be mixed in water or other beverages... right now I'm trying to find ways to hide the mix since the texture makes me sick when it hits my mouth... good luck sweetie Stephie

No, I haven't tried soy milk. Another problem is I don't like the taste of milk. Sorry about you being sick! Do you know what is causing to be so sick? When I read any posts from you upstate gals I miss it up there. My parents live in Inman and I moved from Campobello in Aug. Teresa

I have a huge hernia that makes me stay sick... but hopefully it will be getting fixed here soon... I just hate another surgery but I hate being in the shape I'm in as well... as for the soy milk it comes in different flavors .. alot do like the sugar free choc. though

I've heard here on the board some people's taste's change completely after the surgery. You wont know until you try it. Jennifer

Believe it or not I used to drink milk all day everyday if I could, chocolate, strawberry, white, vanilla, 1%, 2%, whole, skim, it didn't matter to me I just loved it. However, since the surgery I have become lactose intolerate. Anytime I eat/drink any dairy product, I pay for it later. I have terrible pains in my stomach and I will spare you the details about the rest. Things do change after surgery, some people notice and some dont. I didn't like greens at all before surgery but for some strange reason I have been craving them for the past few weeks (still too scared to try some but hey the craving is there, I'm learning to train myself to not give in to every craving I have). My protein powder I just bought can be mixed with water and it's pretty good. Doesn't have that thick chalky feeling that sits on your tongue like Goodies Powder. You are going to find all kinds of tricks and ways to change things up to fit your needs and taste, don't worry hun it all comes in time, trust me I know! Robin
