I went to a WLS seminar. A person asked Dr. Byrne, and I believe they said it was around 20,000. Maybe some bandster would know better. There is also a lap-band forum here at OH. Teresa

I am self pay. I had lapband surgery in Jan. at Dr. Balder/anderson in Myrtle Beach, SC. My surgery was about 13,000 counting the pre-op testing. My fills are 175 and I've only gotten one. I'm doing well and have lost 45 pounds in 4 months. I'm very satisfied with my wieght loss. I don't know where you're from, but I'd recommend lapband to anyone. Di

hi i just had lapband on 2/26 and i was fortunate enough to have insurance cover it all. my EOB from cigna are coming up @ $26k, but i know if a person has insurance they will charge more. i have had one fill and im not sure what it was yet. i had mine done by dr hughes and paluzzi in seneca. the website is www.palmettosurg.com and they are listed here on the forums. there is a link for financial aid too. good luck! keep in touch shelly dixon

I'm not sure what they charge at MUSC since my insurance paid for the entire thing but I think Dr. Byrne said that self pay was a little less. Another poster said Betencourt medical is something to look into but please ask about this at the Lap-band forum because I have heard terrible things about it. Just rememer, you get what you pay for so cheap is not necessarily what you need to go by.
