All my life I have been an emotional eater. Food has been my friend. The only one who could comfort me during my trails in life. After having GB I wasn't hungry like before. Now in the last week I have about fallen apart. The thoughts of the family court hearing and such are always on my mind. I have prayed and given it all to the lord and tried not to worry. But I have started feeling overly hungry all day and night. Getting up at 3 am feeling like I am starving. Eating things I know my body does not need or want. I have been vomiting because I feel when I start eating I cannot stop even when I am overly full. I feel I am always in search of something to eat. Like I am obsessed with this. Does anyone have a clue as what I can do? Please any advice will do. You have all been like a family to me. I need to know what to do. How to stop this. Everyone have a blessed day and I will check back for responses after church. Love to all, Jennifer

Jennifer..first of all I kow the Lord will feed you at church this morning...all who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be fed. Pray Girlfriend that He is your substinence duriing this stressful time. I turn on praise music because then the enemy can't flood my thoughts with the "what ifs" and you know what I mean. I try to always keep SF popsicles in the freezer (tropical) and they help me a lot. Pick up a good book..Bible is the best and read through Psalms..even David struggled with depression and stress....read what he wrote to the Lord. Pray scripture back to the Lord...He doesn't get mad and it encourages us to say the verses back to the Lord. Read Christian fiction....it keeps our mind in the heavenlies and not on the problem. I am praying for your "little man" and for you and your family and for his biological mother. God is still on the throne and no one can thwart His plans for your life or for Gabrials.. Love you Sweetie, Joan M

Jennifer.... I understand your feelings. I am an emotional eater as well. Very rarely does it work in my benefit of LOSING. I am glad you have this tool of wls that will help you. You aslo have your religion, so use praying, that is good. Here are some other things. 1. Exercise!! go for a walk. take one of those gawjuss kids (wish i could go for one with you, maybe in June?!! 2. Drink water - make sure you are getting in the amount your dr. has suggested 3. Protein first thing in the morning. and NO CARBS until later in the day. I know it sounds trite.... but trust me... it works. truly!! 4. get posting on here.. which you do, and get to support group meeetings, which you do. 5. call a friend (kind of like a sponsor/angel) 6. and above all.... try to relax because a week or two of this is normal and we all have slumps.... love and friendship xo

Jennifer, at this point you are doing al that you can. Hang in there and I think after your court hearing tomorrow you will feel a lot better...and things will get easier again. In the meantime, try to choose high protein, low carbs when you have to eat, and drink all of the water you can! Susann

Jennifer, I know how you feel! Try to keep the carbs out of the house. I know it is hard with kids there but they would be better having grapes, cheese, yogurts, and all that stuff. Have you tried Vienna Sausages? Their bite-size and have a little protein in them as well. When you feel like you are starving, try drinking as much water as you can. It's called water loading. It will make you feel full. Keep doing that instead of making yourself throw up. That is not good for you and could escalate into more serious problems. Call me anytime! Susan

Jennifer wish you could have joined us last night at our meeting - the love and support I think would have helped you - but we did remember you and had you in our thoughts. I also know about the emotional eating - I am trying to remember why I have had this surgery done and instead of grabbing a bite of something to eat I will fix a protein cold drink or a shake and sip on that instead. It is hard but it will get better honey I just know it. Good luck with your court date tomorrow and I am sure once that is out of the way things will be much better for you. It will get easier and remember that you have many friends here that are willing and able to provide you support and sustenance as you journey. Carolyn
