hi Tiffany,
I know you will prob get really tired of hearing this.... but let me preface it by saying...that it is because I (we) care! make sure you always check with your doctor/nut before you take any med or supplement. Its so important. It is good to ask on the boards too though for feedback.
That being said, I used a shampoo with biotin for the first 8 mos and it seemed to help, but what really helps, according to my doc was that I was having the right amounts of protein and water.... BUT that everyone will lose hair and that it WILL grow back. If you have a long hair style you may want to cut it, or you might want to wear it differently before hand? just a thought. I was fortunate in that I lost some hair, but you couldnt really tell.. and my hair is baby fine.
As far as the vitamins.. You will have to get your levels checked every so often.... lol sorta sounds like a car engine, huh??!! but... they will check you and if you are defficient they will up you or lower you on your vits... at least that is what 'my' doctor did. I take a B12 every other day and I have to take an iron supplement and this changed throughout... I go for my 2 year on May 9th and will have my blood checked again.
I am very excited for you. good luck and when you see your doctor do not be afraid to go in with a piece of paper with a list written down.... that is what i did.. because it is too hard to rememeber everything... and write down the answers.. and sometimes bring someone with you, because an extraa set of ears is great.
hugs
J.
