HELP!! MY SCALE HAS NOT MOVED IN A WEEK!
I am 5 weeks and 2 days post op today and I had my 1 month followup with Dr. Byrne last Thursday and my weight has not moved since then. What is going on? I am down 32 lbs but am getting frustrated as to why I am in this slump. Am I doing something wrong or does this happen to everyone? I almost feel like throwing my scales away and not weighing for a while since I still have so far to go. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance.
Melanie

Do what you feel and throw the scale away. It is normal for some of us to hit a stall even this soon out. Relax
Your body is resting. Sometimes this happens. Just keep working the program and the weight will start coming off. But do not fall into the trap of jumping on the scale every day, if you do that already. You should be weighing yourself once a week and at the same time. It will be OK. Your body is just catching up.
32 lbs in 5 weeks is great!
Congrats! That is wonderful!

Please step away from the scale!! LOL!! This is so normal it is unreal but we all feel this way after surgery. You are probably going to hit many stalls...............so get used to it. It is our body catching up with the weight loss. You will still lose inches I'm sure. We all have felt your pain, but you will lose again. Keep it up and you will be at goal in no time.

1st off, 32 pounds is awesome!!

2nd, don't go throwing your scales away, if you want them to start working in your favor, take them outside, kick them off the steps 3 maybe 4 times, drop them from about waist high onto the ground, gently pick them up and wisper to them,
"NOW DO YOU GET THE MESSAGE? YOU WORK FOR ME, AND UNLESS YOU
STRAIGHTEN UP, THERE IS MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM!!!"
I have only had to do that twice and they work better for me now.
Really, somedays mine won't move for 4-5 days, but when it does, it is usually a good move. I am only 2 months out, but I honestly think it is because we are loosing so fast, that our body has to regroup.
It will keep going....trust me.

Been there. Done that. Mine finally started moving again this week.
DEB>>>BEHAVE...violence towards your scales will get you no where. Haven't we had this pep talk before? Instead beat up a certain teacher.
32 pounds is GREAT.....You will be fine....love Jennifer
As of this morning I have lost 60 pounds. Go me...
Please do not get discouraged! 32lbs in less than 6 wks is incredible!!! I am about 3.5 months out and I still have stalls. What usually happens is I will go a week or so without losing a thing, and then all of a sudden 8 more pounds are gone.
I have lost a total of about 62lbs. In comparison to some of the members on this board, that is pretty slow. But I try to remember that at least I am not gaining. And never in my life have I lost over 60 pounds in 3 months. Please keep a positive attitude. Trust me when I say the weightloss will continue!!!

YOU ARE PERFECTLY NORMAL ... THIS IS WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN FOR YOU TO CONTINUE TO LOSE WEIGHT. THIS PROCESS IS "LOSE & SHRINK". YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT, THEN YOUR BODY MUST TAKE A BREAK TO REDISTRIBUTE THE REMAINING FAT ... AT THOSE TIMES WE CALL "STALLS", YOU WILL LOSE INCHES & CLOTHES SIZES. YOUR BODY WILL ALSO CHANGE SHAPE. SO, GET USED TO IT NOW OR YOU WILL BE MISERABLE WITH THE PROCESS.
AS FOR THE SCALES ... YOU NEED TO WEIGH AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN STAND IT. TO THIS DAY, I WEIGH DAILY & I MARK IT ON A CALENDAR SO I CAN SEE MY PATTERN. MOST STUDIES SHOW THAT IF YOU WEIGH DAILY, YOU WILL LOSE MORE & KEEP IT OFF LONGER BECAUSE WHEN YOU GAIN A COUPLE POUNDS, YOU'LL BE AWARE & DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO LOSE THEM RIGHT AWAY. BUT, IF IT IS DRIVING YOU TOTALLY BONKERS, THEN STAY OFF THEM FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT KEEP CLOSE TABS ON YOUR EATING & DRINKING ... NO CHEATING WHILE NOT WEIGHING!
YOU'RE DOING FABULOSLY ALREADY LOSING 32 #s. BE PROUD OF EVERY POUND, OF EVERY SUCCESS, OF EVERY GOOD CHOICE YOU MAKE!
GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk
