UPSET WITH DAILY EATING

I read everyones post on what they ate and I feel so bad and I am upset with myself because im eating the opposite of what everyone else seems to be eating. Yesterday I had coffee, bacon,egg & cheese biscuit lunch I ate a snacker chk sandwich from kfc with sweet tea then mini bag popcorn then meatloaf and before I went to bed I ate raisin brand cereal. Yes I did have water yesterday too! Does anyone else eat like this? Please give me some tips on what I need to change. I dont really need to lose anymore weight ive lost 100 lbs, but I dont want to gain.

Hi Crystal, I know how you feel. It is not easy. Sometimes I think our lives get SO BUSY and it is about time too. How about making a plan the day before for the following day? Can you do that and then try to stick to it as much as possible? Some times that is the only way that I can stick to my healthy eating habits. (and trust me.. I am not by any means trying to sound preachy) Latley I have become a little too obsesed with fritos...... ugggh. I might have a low sodium level.. or I might just be using them to comfort myself?? Or maybe they are helping me with my need for GRITS? lol But I find that if I go to work, or wherever for the day and I dont have a "plan of action" i tend to eat too randomly for that day and then I blow it big time. I am at goal too... and dont want to lose any more. But when I eat healthy I always FEEL physically and mentally better. (and trust me... the mental part is what I need... lol) hugs,

I didnt mean to send it without putting this part in... sorry someone came by my desk... I will bring in healthy snacks and a lunch to work for the day.... if I dont do that then it leaves me the opportunity to 'buy lunch' and then I am kind of in trouble because I tend to buy a high caloric lunch and/or snacks that I might not have bought if I had packed/planned the day before when I was not hungry. so that is how I plan better ahead of time. In the beginning I did this religiously and now I dont do it as often I as I am suggesting... and would like to get back to it. It is also a great way to save $$ and if I did it more... it would help me to get closer to my relocation plans. i have to get out of here.............................!!! xoxo

NOW, DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP, MS CRYSTAL ... I REALLY DON'T THINK YOU'RE EATING ALL THAT BADLY. IT JUST TAKES SMALL CHANGES FOR BIG RESULTS. OF COURSE THE SWEET TEA HAS TO GO ... SUGAR IN LIQUID FORM HITS YOUR BLOOD STREAM THE QUICKEST & IS SO EASILY ABSORBED SPIKING YOUR GLUCOSE LEVELS ... THAT'S WHY WE LIKE IT ... WE GET A SUGAR HIGH. BUT THEN, IT DROPS LIKE A ROCK & WE GET SOOOOOOOOOO HUNGRY, TIRED & CRANKY. CHANGE TO SPLENDA ... or, USE CRYSTAL LITE OR OTHER LOW-SUGAR FRUIT BASED DRINKS ... SOME HAVE AS LOW AS 2 - 5 SUGAR GRAMS PER SERVING IF YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE SUGAR DRINKS. THE ONLY THINGS I SEE THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHANGE ARE THE FAST FOOD SANDWICHES. IF THAT'S ALL YOU CAN GET (like for breakfast), EAT EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE BUN or ORDER A BREAKFAST BURRITO (if they have them) & TEAR OFF MOST OF THE TORTILLA. A LITTLE WHITE CARB WON'T HURT, BUT REMEMBER, WHITE CARBS (& sugar) IS THE MAJOR THING THAT WILL SLOW/STOP OUR WEIGHT LOSS. SAME WITH THE CHICKEN SANDWICH ... GET A SALAD WITH CHICKEN, or CHICKEN STRIPS INSTEAD, or EAT THE CHICKEN PATTY & TOSS THE BUN. RESTUARANT SALADS USUALLY SUCK BECAUSE THEY USE ICEBERG LETTUCE WHICH HAS NO NUTRITIONAL VALUE (it's cheap so they use it), BUT IT'S BETTER TO EAT THAT & THE MEAT TOPPING WITH A LITTLE DRESSING THAN EAT A BREAD SANDWICH. IF YOU LIKE BURGERS, GET THEM WITHOUT THE BUN ... HARDEE'S ACTUALLY HAS A BUNLESS BURGER (they us ANGUS BEEF, which is a better quality than most fast foods' use) ... &, WENDY'S HAS GREAT CHILI WITH OR WITHOUT CHEESE. NOT AS OFTEN, BUT I STILL EAT AT FAST FOOD PLACES & RESTUARANTS BUT I CHOOSE MY FOOD VERY DIFFERENTLY THAN BEFORE SURGERY. MOST FAST FOODS HAVE CHANGED TO "GOOD" OILS & AS GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS, WE USUALLY DON'T GET ENOUGH (or, too much) FAT IN OUR DIETS ... & REMEMBER, WE DO NEED "GOOD" FATS TO STAY HEALTHY & FOR OUR SKIN. THE BEST THING WE CAN DO IS PLAN, PLAN, PLAN AHEAD CUZ IT JUST ISN'T WISE TO EAT OUT EVERY DAY. MS DIANNE WROTE TO ME PRIVATELY ABOUT PLANNING AHEAD (like, packing a lunch & taking snacks) & SHE'S SO RIGHT ... IT IS THE KEY TO OUR SUCCESS. I KEEP PROTEIN BARS IN MY PURSE FOR BOTH NICK & I. I ALWAYS CARRY SPLENDA PACKETS IN A BAGGIE IN MY PURSE & ANOTHER IN THE CAR. SOMETIMES I'LL THROW IN A VILE OF PROFECT PROTICA. AT HOME, WE HAVE EVERY KIND OF PACKAGED PROTEIN IMAGINABLE. BUT, YOU CAN'T EXIST ON JUST PACKAGED PROTEIN SO BUY THINGS LIKE APPLES & CELERY & PUT SOME PEANUT BUTTER OR CHEESE ON THEM AS A CRUNCHY SNACK (much better than peanut butter or cheese crackers). GET SOME LOW-FAT YOGURT, OR EVEN THE ONES WITH FRUIT WHEN YOU HAVE A SWEET TOOTH. ADD SOME DRIED FRUIT TO YOUR LOW FAT COTTAGE CHEESE. QUAKER HAS SOME "SOY" CRISPS (white cheddar & BBQ flavors) THAT ARE REALLY QUITE GOOD TO KEEP YOU OUT OF THE CHIP BAG (don't go for the RICE CRISPS OR CAKES) ... THERE ARE 2 OTHER BRANDS OF SOY CRISPS WITH DIFFERENT FLAVORS THAT YOU CAN FIND AT MOST GROCERY STORES & THE VITAMIN SHOPPE. NUTS (especially ALMONDS & WALNUTS) ARE VERY HEALTHY SNACKS. SAM'S & WAL*MART HAVE A GREAT TRAIL MIX IN A PURPLE BAG THAT IS PERFECT FOR ANY ENERGY SNACK AS IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY SUGAR SNACKS IN IT ... NO M&Ms OR SUGAR-COATED ITEMS ... IT'S ALL NUTS, SEEDS & FRUIT & EVEN HAS SOY NUTS FOR PROTEIN (8 grams in a serving). AS FOR SWEETS, USE FRUIT, BUT IF YOU MUST EAT CANDY OR COOKIES, ETC ... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR EATING SUGAR DESSERTS WITH THE VAST VARIETY OF SF & NSA PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET. THEY TASTE FANTASTIC & ARE USUSALLY SO RICH THAT YOU CAN ONLY EAT A FEW! ONE MORE TRICK I USE, MS CRYSTAL ... I BUY THE INDIVIDUAL PACKETS OF CRYSTAL LITE & KEEP THEM IN MY PURSE (they have a ton of flavors - my favorite is Peach Tea with a little Cherry added - YUMMY) ... ANYWAY, WHEN I EAT OUT, I ORDER WATER & ADD MY CRYSTAL LITE. I SAVE ABOUT $2.00 EVERY TIME I EAT OUT THAT WAY & AM DRINKING A SF DRINK. THINK ABOUT IT, WHEN NICK ORDERS WATER AS WELL, THAT'S A SAVINGS OF $4.00 EACH TIME YOU EAT OUT. IF YOU & YOUR HUBBY EAT OUT JUST 2 TIMES A WEEK, THAT'S A SAVINGS OF $208.00 A YEAR JUST FOR 2 PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! SOMETIMES THE WAITRESS LOOKS A LITTLE UNAPPROVING & I JUST EXPLAIN THAT I'M A GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENT & I CAN'T DRINK CARBONATED DRINKS & CAN'T HAVE CAFFIENE WHICH IS IN TEA. THEIR ATTITUDES CHANGE IMMEDIATELY & THEN THEY ARE INTERESTED IN MY WEIGHT LOSS. SINCE NICK & I ARE VERY HEAVY TIPPERS, THEY DON'T SUFFER IN THEIR WALLETS BECAUSE WE DIDN'T ORDER DRINKS.
