Update on Gabriel.

Today was a bad day and a good day. Gabriels mom, Kristie called. She said she was going to go to a rehab program in florence and they let you bring your child. She said she figures if they see her trying she will not get any time on the 2 armed robbery charges. We got into an argument and she said she was coming to get him. I told her I would call dss before I let her get him and do not come in my yard. We had a huge argument. Anyway, I went down to family court and told them what was up and they know her so well. They said she has been in the family court system forever and been in jail a lot. They said she has a bench warrant and I told them where to find her. I don't think they found her because I called the detention center and she is not there. The people from family court called the judge over her case and she said we should file to terminate her parental rights and we can come before her. So I go to my lawyers office and she said she could start the papers tomorrow and have us in court Friday. But she needed 950.00 to start. So we called around and someone donated 50 dollars, then our church donated 500.00, his real dad is giving us 300. on Friday and my ex husband gave me 160. So thats 1010.00 dollars. It is going to take 2,400. all together. We are going to try and find more donations from more of our family and friends. His dad said he will sign over his part custody to us. Plus try and get some more money. Please pray for us.... Also, Our lawyer is the same lawyer that tried a case against Kristie 10 years ago when she lost custody of her oldest child. They see no problem with us getting him...Love to all jennifer

I am so happy for you. The thought that she was just gonna "go and pick him up" infuriates me! He probably doesn't even know her from any stranger on the street. I will be racking my brain for ways you can get some of that money. If I had it, I would totally just send it right over to you. That baby deserves no less than the good life he has with you guys. I so happy that you have the ball rolling on getting permenant custody of Gabriel. It is nice to know that you have the courts in corner. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Julie

This is such good news. I can identify sort of with what you are going through because of my baby's situation. And having his birth father on your side will make a difference. I wish I could think of a fund raiser. I will be racking my brains. Mary
