Trent and I have been member since they first opened. I think you will enjoy it. Just a tip, between 4 and 7pm, this place is packed. Trent likes to go at 5:30 in the morning. Sometimes I go then too, but I do not like mornings. I feel better once I get there, but there is just something about getting up at 4:30 in the morning to go to the gym that is there all day that doesn't do much for me. Congrats for your choice. Have fun and take it easy at first. Deb

THAT IS TOO COOL ... MAYBE WE CAN MEET THERE SOMETIME ... ARE YOU FREE IN THE DAYTIME? I NEED A DAY OR 2 NOTICE SO I CAN PLAN ON TAKING NICK TO WORK & KEEPING THE CAR. I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY PILATIES (sp?) ... THEY HAVE PiYo (Pilaties & Yoga) AT 9:30am ON THURSDAYS ... NICK HAS TO BE AT WORK AT 5:30 SO EARLY MORNINGS ARE OUT FOR US, BUT WE WERE THINKING ABOUT 6:30 OR 7:00pm. NOOOOOOOOO ONE WOULD WANT ME THERE EARLY EVEN IF WE COULD GO ... I'M A NIGHT OWL & NOT ALL THAT WARM & FUZZY IN THE MORNINGS. BUT, I'M VERY SWEET IN THE DAY & EVENINGS, IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF! I WAS THINKIN' ABOUT HOW SORE YOU WERE & HOW YOU ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL WITH STRAINED MUSCLES SO I MUST HAVE TOLD THE TRAINER 10 TIMES THAT I WAS NOT INTO PAIN ... I WANTED TO START OUT SLOW & EASY ... GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Dawn, Starting out slow and easy is great. I joined Pivotal about a month ago and try to go at least 3 days a week. I will be starting a new schedule the end of April so I will be going in the evenings on my way home from work. I probably won't get there from Daniel Island until about 10:30 or so. On days that I don't go to the gym I try to use my treadmill. I know you already know this, but you will not believe how good you are going to feel. If you take it slow, you should not be too sore. Good luck and keep us posted! IRIS

WELL, I POSTED A REPLY & SOMEHOW LOST IT SO IF 2 SIMILAR POSTS COME UP, SORRY! THAT IS REALLY NEAT ... MAYBE WE'LL BUMP INTO EACH OTHER SINCE YOU'RE GONNA START COMING AT NIGHT. USUALLY, WE'LL BE GOING AT ABOUT 6:30 - 7:00pm. WE'LL BE THE OL' GEEZERS CRAWLING DOWN THE AISLE TOWARDS THE DOOR! I KNOW I SOUNDED LIKE A WUSSY BUT AT OUR AGES, THE LAST THING WE NEED IS AN INJURY OR STRAINED MUSCLES. ADAM SAID THAT HE HAS A COUPLE YOUNG, GUNG-HO TRAINERS BUT HE PROMISED TO PLACE US WITH MORE EXPERIENCED TRAINERS WHO WILL TAKE OUR AGES, & ACHES & PAINS INTO CONSIDERATION. I THINK I'M GETTING JUDY, THE ORIENTAL LADY. SHE HANDLES MOST OF THE GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS. I DID FIND OUT THAT ANYONE ON BETA BLOCKERS LIKE I AM FOR MY HEART CONDITION WILL HAVE TO HAVE THEIR CARDIO WORKOUT ADJUSTED BECAUSE THEIR HEART RATE WON'T RISE NORMALLY, SO YOU'LL BE WORKING OUT HARDER THAN YOU APPEAR TO BE, WHICH FOR A HEART PATIENT COULD BE DANGEROUS. GOOD INFORMATION TO KNOW. GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

Yea, most days I am free through out the day. It would be good modivation for me. I was working out with a trainer there too. I let him push me too hard. That was my fault. I guess I wanted to start off where I left off at. My advice is to start off with cardio, wake up and warm up those muscles. Trust me, if you use the incline on the treatmill, you will feel it in your thighs, and in the back and fronts of your legs and in your calves. Then if you start off with real light weights, for your upper body, just alternate the days. I did "Body For Life" a program for men and women that worked so well for me years ago. I lost 45 pounds in 10 weeks. Maybe I will lend you my book if you are coming to group tonight. Example: Monday: Upper Body work out Bicepts: Bicept curls Do 12 reps of 2 pounds 10 reps of 5 pounds 8 reps of 10 pounds 6 reps of 15 pounds 12 reps of 10 pounds Then get off the muscle. What you have done is exausted that muscle, tore it down, and then it gets a few days to rebuild. While rebuilding it tones the flabby skin. Do that with all upper body. Bicepts, tricepts, back, chest and shoulders. Then on Tuesday do cardio and abs. Wednesday do lower body: calves, quads, ham strings. Thursday do cardio and abs Friday do upper body again. Sat do cardio & abs The next week you change it around and do lower body on Mon & Fri and Upper body on Wed. Actually you could do cardio everyday, but on Tues & Thurs, go at it hard. We don't do Saturdays. Thats just us. But Sunday is your "cheat Day" You can let yourself eat something bad or you can lay around resting. What we did was try to go to the beach for a walk (beach sand works your legs out) or still do something moving (walk the dogs longer) and most of the time we didn't cheat, if we did, it was just a little. All week long you have to eat 6 times a day (that was the hard part for me). You also should sit down the night before and plan out your day, with what you are going to eat and the excersizes you plan to do. (that way when you go in the gym, you have a plan and are not just wandering around lost), and plan to drink all of your water. We can even do this together if you want. I did it with Trent, and needless to say, he worked me out like a man. Have fun girl. Call me if you need me.
