I'll get it for us. The best part of them is how my Daddy cooks the grits. He just lets them simmer for a LONG time. They are delish. Its funny, when Dad had his shrimp boats 22 year ago, that's what he and the crew would eat for breakfast most morning. Dad would make a pot of grits, they would saute some shrimp that they had just caught and put the shrimp and "gravy" on top of the grits. I wonder if one of these chef's had ever worked on a shrimp boat??? Mary

Shrimp & Grits (copied from the above link hominy grill) I am going to this restaurant one way or another!! 3 slices bacon, chopped 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined 2 tbsp flour 2 tbsp peanut oil 1 _ c. sliced mushrooms 1 lge clove garlic Tabasco 2 tsp fresh lemon juice _ c. thinly sliced green onions Fry bacon until crisp, remove from pan & reserve; pour off all but 1 tbsp of fat. Gently toss shrimp w/ flour until lightly coated; remove excess flour. Add peanut oil to pan w/ bacon fat & heat over medium high heat. Add shrimp & sauté until half-cooked. Add mushrooms & toss. When they begin to cook, stir in reserved bacon, add garlic with a press but do not let brown. Then very quickly stir in tabasco and lemon. Coo****il shrimp are pink on both sides and mushrooms are golden brown. Season w/ salt, add green onions and then remove from heat. Spoon shrimp mixture over grits. Serve immediately. I WONDER HOW MANY CALORIES ARE IN THIS??????????? omg (well, maybe its not that bad...? i dont know. everything in moderation, but it is prob not good for post ops... ) STEP AWAY FROM THIS RECIPE lol

Best Shrimp and Grits in town is at MiMi's Cafe on James Island. You will need to leave off the peppers but they are the best. Grits are ground corn and other than Shrimp and Grits the best way to have them is with cheese and butter. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will make a Southern out of ya! Julie

Never been to Hominy Grill but it is on the list of places to try. I feel the best Shrimp and Grits in town is at a little cafe on James Island called MiMi's. They are to die for. Instant Grits are OK, but the real thing is better. Also remember the butter with the cheese, salt and pepper. Julie

Thank you Julie. I actually talked to Debbi today and she told me some new things I could try. I don't want to do ANYTHING to hurt my precious pouch so I'm sticking strickly to what I am allowed to have for 3 more weeks. I do eat a lot of grits and cheese tho. Always have I'm a Southern girl and proud of it.
