Suggestions Please
On things I can eat..I can't do eggs. They made me sick as a dog. I've tried pintos and cheese from Taco Hell-loved them, chili from Wendy's it was ok, she crab soup loved it, grits, things like that but I'm looking for something different. Something that curves my taste buds til I get past this "pureed diet". Sometimes I just don't eat because I don't like my options. I know thats NOT good but I can't force myself. Some have said I can eat whatever as long as I chew chew chew but what does that include? Not steak, burgers, pork chops, things like that but what about a pot pie? Are those ok? Mac n Cheese? Noodles?
Thanks in advance on your help.

Tanya,
Do you like Ricotta cheese? That was something that I found to be a life saver! I would take Ricotta cheese, and then a little mozz cheeese.. layer it, and then some tomato sauce on top of that...
it was my noodle-less lasagna..
make sure that the ricotta cheese is part skim, and the same with the mozz cheese... and then nuke it .... or bake it... till warm and melted...
how about that?
There is also a cookbook that was on the main board that someone put together. I would be happy to email it to you. send me your email address.. either by private message, or post it here, or however you like...
hugs

I would also like a copy of the cookbook please my e-mail address is
[email protected].
Thank you Rose
I did healthy choice chicken noodle and chicken and rice...and at first just drank the juice and ate the carrots till they were mush. I lived on mashed potatoes and pintos and cheese for the longest. Also the lasagna thing that was mentioned to me takes too much work and since I am lazy....(which is part of the reason I got to be so fat).....I would go buy the manicotti frozen and microwave it and eat the insides leaving the noodle. You can find some of them for only a buck. I personally waited till I was 3 weeks out till I started eating regular food...and I chewed it to mush.

I lived on cheese grits, soup, and protein drinks (made with Carnation). I got the Progresso Soups, in any flavor, and put them in the blender before heating. I also had a baked potato soup that I did. It was 1 can of cream of potato and 1 can of cheddar cheese soup. I filled one can twice with skim milk, blended and heated. Tasted just like a bake potato. I would be careful right now about trying some solid foods, even if you chew, this soon out. Hang in there. You are almost there. You can do it.

Oh Julie,
I forgot about cheese grits. I also lived on them. It was such a big deal when I could add some shredded cheddar to the grits. How could I forget. Do you remember the good old days when a bowl of those grits would last the day?
I'm so happy that you can maybe come next Saturday!!! Hope to see you then.
Love,
Mary
I have never had grits......
so, when I come to visit, will someone make them for me....?
I dont like cream of wheat.....and I dont really like oatmeal.... and I know that southern grits ..well, there is supposedly "nothing like 'em"
Will I make it in SC?
(are they all gonna laugh at me??)
I LOVE CHEESE THOUGH!
there are only two foods that I HATE..... mushrooms and peppers...... ugghhghg!!!!!!
oh, and I hate liver... so I guess that is 3. ok, probably more if you start adding all the weird exotic foods like cow's stomach and eyeballs and stuff.... hahaha

Two Words:
1. Hominy Grill in Charleston: http://hominygrill.com/about.php
2. Shrimp & Grits (get 'em to leave out the mushrooms for you)
There's another place in Charleston that makes Shrimp & Grits to die for, only I can't remember the name of it. I can get myself there, though!
Stay away from "Instant" Grits ... and even the ones that say "cooks in 5 minutes", you need to cook for at least half an hour for "real grits". And if nothing else, add some sharp cheddar cheese, salt and pepper .... mmmm, heaven.
