E-mail address for Dr. Byrne??
I was wondering if anyone had Dr. Byrne's e-mail address? How is everyone today? Good I hope. I'll be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and am down 32 lbs. I tried working out in the yard this weekend and just felt so weak and also felt things go "black" several times almost as if I was going to pass out. I just feel so weak and tired all the time. Is this normal to feel this way 5 weeks post op? I'm just praying for the day when I feel better and feel like I haven't had surgery at all? I know it will get better, but am just wondering when?

BLACKING OUT ISN'T NORMAL, BUT BEING TIRE & EXHAUSTED IS PERFECTLY NORMAL ... REMEMBER, IT TAKES AROUND 3 MONTHS JUST FOR YOUR INSIDES TO HEAL ... &&&, YOU'RE EXISTING ON MAYBE 300 CALORIES A DAY. SO, YES, YES, YES, IT IS VERY NORMAL TO BE EXHAUSTED. I WAS LIKE THAT FOR 10 MONTHS, GETTING JUST A LITTLE MORE ENERGY AS I WENT ALONG UNTIL I FINALLY BEGAN TO FEEL HUMAN AGAIN.
IT COULD HAVE BEEN THAT YOU WERE DOING TOO MUCH ... THAT YOU WERE DEHYDRATED OUT IN THE HEAT ... THAT YOU NEED TO UP YOUR SUPPLEMENTS ... THAT YOU NEEDED TO EAT ... THAT YOU ARE LOW ON NUTRIENTS. THIS SOON AFTER SURGERY, IT COULD BE JUST ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR THIAMIN (B-1) LEVELS CHECKED ... SEEMS THAT IS A COMMON THING TO BE LOW AFTER GASTRIC BYPASS & CAN CAUSE YOU TO PASS OUT.
IF YOU HAD LAP, IT'S HARD TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU HAD MAJOR SURGERY ... YOUR BODY TOOK A TREMENDOU**** FROM WHAT WAS DONE INSIDE. BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE MAJOR SCARS OUTSIDE IT SEEMS LIKE WE JUST HAD A MINOR PROCEDURE DONE ... NOT SOOOOOOO ... GIVE YOURSELVE SEVERAL MONTHS TO REGAIN YOUR STRENGTH.
GOD BLESS YOU ... DAWN & NICk

thanks for getting Dr. B's email address to me and for all the other excellent info you gave me. It's just like you said: "we don't have major scars" so it really doesn't seem like we had major surgery and I know we did, but I'm so ready to have my strength back and I just have to remember it will take some time. Thank you for your support and your kind words. Every little thing helps at this stage of the healing process mentally and physically.
Take care
