Anyone have any ideas about how to help the scars from surgery heal?

To reduce the scars use Vitamin E oil. But do not start using it until the scars are completely healed. You may not even need it at all. I am about 13 months out and my scars are barely visiable. I can't even find one of them. Julie

Unforunately genetics play a large part in how your scars will appear at the end of the day. I've inherited those bad genes. With all of my plastics, I've learned each time. I can tell you the best thing I've found that works for me to is to just leave them alone. I keep steri strips on the incisions for at least 6-8 weeks to keep tension off the site as well as pressure. Then I'm doing nothing else to them other than rubbing in lotion like I do all over my body. The biggest things is to keep the tension as much as possible off the incision sites.

Yeah, don't bother them until you are really far out. Dr Byrne told us not to touch them until we were over 6 months out. I use the silicone kelo kote, and it really helps my lower body lift scars, but I think I will have to have a scar revision on my back side scar. I use it on my old scars too, its good for those. PS don't use mederma Deb
