lap banders- how was your first fill????

i am 7 weeks out and i had my first fill yesterday and it was absolutely painful!!! has anyone else had this problem? i felt so horrible for my dr, each time he put the needle in the port would move. it took over and hour and now i just wanna cry. i hope it gets easier as the weight goes down! has anyone else had troubles with their fills?

Shelly, I don't think many bandsters post here. For a lot of great info try going to the lapband message board here! I am highly considering having it done. hugs, Teresa

I think I was stuck around 7 times the first fill. Dr. Byrne was very new at the band ( I was only the 4th patient he had) and a lot of the problem has to do with the fat on the abdomen over the port. As you lose belly fat, the port will be much easier to find. This is what happened to me and now he can fill me with one stick. It will get better and if it does not, try and ask for a fill under fluro. One more thing, please keep posting on the SC board!!! There may not be a lot of banded people here, but we need to help each other out and give local support to each other.
