I HATE MY JOB!!!!
We're all smart..intellgent..go getter type women.. There has to be some type of company of our own we can start.. some buiness we undertake that will allow us to take off when our child is sick or has a class trip we want to chaperon and not make us "PAY FOR IT" when we come back the next day...
A business that we can work from home a few days a month ..
Make loads of money.. sign binding contracts that will make us millions!!
and allow us to only work part-time... I know the position as Queen of England is already taken.. but.. what about Dutchess of Greer? Does that pay well ??
Let's go on STRIKE Miss Kathy!!! I'm sick of working for other people!!!

How about strip-o-grams? We can make lots of money and create our own hours. LOL!
I want to go on strike! Lets do it!
Well.. a few problems with that.. I don't work nights.. or weekends.. and I would to rather find a new career where the client isn't going to throw up at the sight of me nekkid!!
But for what it's worth... GET YOUR EDUCATION!! It's never to late to go back to school.. I went back and got my accounting degree when I was in my early 30's.
We have some girls in the office that have a high school diploma and that's all.. and I see how people abuse them.. they can do the work.. so why not get the person who they are paying less to do more.. If I had to work overtime.. it would cost them 3 times as much as it does to make the girl that sits outside my office... It's the business world.. it's all about the bottom line... As much as I hate it.. it's about the all mighty dollar.. The "PEOPLE" part of it goes out the window..
I would give anything to go back and have a nice long chat with my younger self.. and smack some sense into the snotty little spoiled brat I was in HighSchool ... who thought going to college was going to be one BIG PAR-TAY! ...

Kathy If I can give you any advise, it would be to go back to school while you are still young. Don't wait till you're an old woman like me and then realize that the work world revolves around degrees. We can never compete with anyone or get paid what we deserve to be paid if we don't have that piece of paper.I know we both can probably work rings around some of our coworkers, but that will never be reflected in our paychecks. Just please consider it. There are night classes and lottery money to make it happen
Anita,
I totally agree. I went back 14 months ago and have 11 months left to finish my degree. Its the best decision I ever made and I see the light at the end of the tunnel. After my review yesterday, that was I that I could think about.....Soon I'll be out of this hellhole and in a position where people respect me.
Kathy...GO FOR IT. Its great and its a few nights a week without the family and my school has a coffee shop where I can buy a skinny latte.
Mary

My baby sister (aged 40) is doing just that. She had been passed over for several promotions ... even though she is constantly told what an awesome job she does at work ... because the better jobs require a "4-year degree". Doesn't even matter what KIND of degree, you just have to have one. So now she does an almost 2-hour-round-trip three nights a week to attend classes at the nearest university, slowly working her way to her Bachelor's degree. I am so proud of her.
One of these days soon, I'm going to decide what I want to do
when I grow up, and my butt's going to be in a classroom, too.

thats what I want to do. HOWEVER without my husband's support - which I don't have for starting school, I can't do it. He makes way too much money for me to get financial aid and he will not help me pay for it. Its the one thing we have fought about constantly. So what am I supposed to do?
Its already hard enough to be a working mother and I don't know If I can add student onto that too.
Are there loans available if you have can't prove financial need?
You can get lottery money and it will pay for about half the tuition. Then there are grants and loans also. Go to greenville tech's website and you can check out the prices. I've filled out my applications for aid and Lord knows i've got to get plenty of help if I'm gonna do this because I sure can't pay for it on my own. But, if I do end up having to do loans, I figure that with a degree comes a payraise and the cost of the education will pay for itself in a couple of years. Your hubby sounds like mine, he not very supportive of me doing this either, but I've explained to him that life is so uncertain that he might not be around to take care of me and I need to know that I have the means to provide the best i can for myself if I should end up alone. It is only 2 or 3 nights a week and it won't last forever. When I went back to school before for a year I was working 9 hours a day and had 2 sons who were 8 and 10 years old. It was very hard. Takes alot of planning, my lunch breaks were used for doing laundry and preparing supper for them. you can make it work.
