What has happened to the Medical Field

OK this is long and I am complaining big time. I am !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does any PCP give a @$@! about their patients anymore? A little back story...I went to see my PCP on Friday about something, very icky trust me, she gave me meds and said if it is not better to call on Monday and she would get me into see someone who could better take care of it. Well I called Monday AM 1st thing. They open at 830a, I called 832a and left a message saying I was not any better and probably worse. The lady said she would take the message because my PCP was not in yet and she would call me back. So here I waited, and waited, and waited. I had to leave my office so I called and gave them my cell phone number. So I waited and waited again. NO CALL I called them about 145p on Monday and believe it or not I actual was put through to the Dr. WOO HOO. She asked if I was better I told her no and she said that she would make an emergency visit for me to see the specialist. I asked when I would hear she said that she was going to work on it right now and it would be in the morning, meaning this AM. So I felt better. One more day and it would be fixed. NOT! So I waited again, no call. I called them at 1145a saying that I was wondering about the status of the appt. The lady took my information and said she would give it to the nurse. OK I JUST HEARD FROM THE NURSE, 2 hours later! First off the lady got the message WRONG ( she put down the wrong specialist), the nurse had no idea what was going on...So I had to go through all of it all over again, thank god I do not share an office. So she took the message, AGAIN, the thrid time, and said she would get the Dr when she came out of room she was in seeing a patient. OK, so how long am I going to have to wait this time. I am done, I am searching for a new PCP when this gets resolved. I even called Brenda, Dr Byrne's nurse to ask her advice, she has not called me back, but I bet when I talk to her I will get more accomplished than talking to my PCP. Plus I really did not make it sound urgent to her, I told her I was looking for her advice. If I get no resolution by the end of today I am headed to the ER tomorrow after I get some stuff done here at work and be done with it. Sorry for this being so long... Thanks for letting me vent I have already cried once today over all of this and I am about to do it again. I hope everyone is having a better week than me. Julie

Julie im so sorry youre having a bad week already!! i hate doctors offices like that!! ESPECIALLY when u ask to speak to the NURSE or DR and the receptionist asks "what kind of problem are you having?" As IF Its any of THEIR business! rawr.. gripes my butt too lol.. hope you feel better soon!!!!! *HUGS* Jen

Thanks Jen. They FINALLY came through. I have an appt tomorrow at 10a. But I have a feeling it is going to be keep doing what you are doing and if it is not better in XYZ time call me back. I hate the medical field, thank god I got out of it. Julie
