Not feeling good..in pain
Well, things were going okay for me on Friday after my surgery. For those of you that don't know, I had a tubal ligation and an endometrial ablation done Friday. No kids, hopefully no Aunt Flo. Anyway, I was taking my meds like the doctor said but when I "came to" on Saturday night I realized I was taking Naprosyn (Anaprox) and I didn't think I was supposed to take that since WLS so I stopped taking it on Saturday night. I thought that since I was only taking it for 2 days it didn't have time to do any damage (whatever that could be) and I just wouldn't take it anymore. Now it's Monday and I am feeling really bad. I feel like I have been punched in the stomach and my stomach is aching and cramping. I'm at work now and really need to stay here until 5pm but I feel like going home and getting in bed soooo bad!
I know I'm supposed to feel some discomfort from all the gas of the surgery (laproscopic) and from the procedure itself. I just pooped for the first time this morning also and that kind of made me feel better for a little while but now I feel worse than before. So, do you think the Naprosyn hurt me? Should I call MUSC and ask them or see how the next day or so goes? I hate to be a whiner but I also don't want to risk my health either.
Any advice?
Susan
I called Brenda, Dr. Morgan's nurse, and she said that since I am already taking Pepcid and Prevacid that I should be protected from the 2 days of Naprosyn I took. She told me that I would need to call the Gyn and find out about the pain. I'll see how it goes tonight and call in the morning if I still need to. I'm sure it's just normal surgery pain (at least I hope so). I was just worried about the NSAID damaging my stomach.
Thanks for the posts! I feel better already. Well, not really, but it is so comforting to know I have a bunch of people I can talk to when I'm not sure what to do!

I am glad you called and that your little pouch was protected. It is kinda scary now since surgery when you get sick or feel pain. I always think the worse. But that is what I love about Dr B and Brenda. They support us no matter what. I got the stomach flu last week and called Brenda about dehydration and she had Dr B call me in a Rx for Phenegran and told me he wanted to see me the next day in clinic. Since I had to see him Monday, for the surgery follow up, we just switched the appt time. He was wonderful. Double checking that is was the flu and that is was nothing from the surgery a week earlier he did. I told him I was still pretty nauseous and he gave me another Rx for nausea that was stronger and for cancer patients. It is the bomb! They are great there!
I would take Brenda's advice and call your GYN in the AM or even now. Your right it could just be pain from surgery but like I said is better to be safe than sorry. I hope you feel better soon. Call if you need anything.

I am feeling a little better today. I called my Gyn's office and the nurse told me it is probably gas. She told me to get some Gas-x or Phazyme to help with it. I have pooped this morning again and I think that might be the problem. Not pooping enough or something. I know that's gross but oh well! lol. My stomach is still sore and I feel like I've gained 10 lbs but I know I haven't. I guess I just have to get this gas out of me before I feel normal again.
Thanks for everything,
Susan
